"Mass surveillance had never stopped a single terrorist attack in more than 10 years of operation, in the United States." They even view your porn habits... This was from 2016, think how advanced things are now within the 10 years after this.

So you're saying "Fuck off, Chelsea Elizabeth Manning." Fuck off, truthful leaks that were even from before 2016... So you're saying "Fuck off" because you're acting like a puppet. Okay

I hope you have a lot of fun with Objection when the time comes—keyword: Peter Thiel. (Maybe Look Up Objection.. ;) )

I'm saying, fuck off with using information to turn public opinion into a weapon against political rivals.

wikileaks had the email and benghazi data months before the start of the 2016 campaign but continued to "trickle" information about it that allowed Donald Trump to get elected.

I'm absolutely certain they also had information about the Epstein files as well, but that didn't come to light until almost a decade later and the public is still not fully aware of what happened today.

so yeah. fuck wikileaks. they're just a front for Russian intelligence and was leveraged to destabilize world democracy.

Having to choose between two of the worst people ever isn't democratic to me. Clinton is a monster too, which is very obvious when you see people outside the US as human. Obviously Trump's policies are even worse, but let's not pretend you needed much help to get that pos elected when even after the files so many people over there still like him.

don't go moving those goal posts too far.

[–] vanillama@programming.dev -1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm just asserting you don't need a foreign state to explain this.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

so you actually believe that wikileaks has no other motivations other than just releasing the truth?

[–] vanillama@programming.dev 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No. I just think blaming Russia makes no sense when there's a massive issue with billionaires buying up the media and supporting people like Trump, it feels like misplacing systemic blame on external actors, as if a friendlier relationship with Russia would fix the massive issued endemic to capitalism.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

just because rich assholes are ruining the world doesn't mean Russian Intelligence isn't also to blame. how many info dumps did wikileaks drop on other countries outside the US? also take a look at when those dumps happened.

there's a lot, and I mean a lot, of inconclusive evidence linking wikileaks to Russia. the kind of evidence that an intelligence agency typically accepts as "collateral damage".

a friendlier relationship with Russia would fix the massive issued endemic to capitalism.

you can fuck all the way off now. fuck those гопник wannabe Nazis.

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦

That's really, really stupid... Sure, you can hate WikiLeaks for it, but to say "fuck off" to the truth that was leaked anyway is just stupid. It doesn't change anything about the published data itself—those are completely different issues.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"the truth" has no motives, only people and organizations do.

what wikileaks did and does is leverage the truth to manipulate opinions and outcomes.

what you're basically admitting to is that you're willing to be manipulated because the ends justify the means.

if that's not the most fucked up perspective I've ever had the displeasure of wrapping my mind around, I don't know what could be worse.

take your brainrot ideas somewhere else.

No, what I'm saying is that you let yourself be controlled like a puppet when it comes to sources and information. Iraq, Afghanistan, "Collateral Murder," the Guantanamo manuals, diplomatic cables—and you just brush them all off because of something completely different.

And you wanna Talk about brainrot? So stupid It seems you're the kind of person who would burn books, too.

You're basically telling that kind of content to "fuck off" https://youtu.be/zYTxuW2vmzk Omg
