No, you can go listen a group of musicians and give them money directly. Same with a painter. Similarly with an actor. A bit more difficult with a movie director, but independent cinemas do exist, someone else will keep most of the money, but to be fair they're likely the people who gave the money for the movie to be produced and advertised.
