Newsom pushed through a age verification law. How can that work unless it is a national login page? Reddit, imgur, lemmy/piefed, and pretty much everything else would require a digital bouncer at the door because none of this is designed to keep a tiny fraction of the countries total population from being psychologically scared like all the rest of us have been.
Establishment Democrats have been enabling the Republicans for decades.
Makes much more sense how we got here when you realize the Democrats haven't been that different from Republicans.
They push the exact same neoliberal policies, they just act slightly nicer to gay people while they do it.

It's like those two managers at work. One is a sweetheart, and everybody wants to be on their team. The other is an insufferable sonuvabitch that makes every minute at work miserable, and nobody wants to be on his team.
But make no mistake, despite their total opposite approaches, they both have the same job - to advance the corporation's agenda. Ultimately, they both have the same objective.

Yeah, we would hate for kids to find out what human genitalia look like. If we do a good enough job, they'll go their entire lives without ever learning that boys and girls have different parts in their pants.
Hardcore porn is a little different from general nudity and access to it probably has a bigger impact on a child's development than you want to admit.
Banning kids from corporate social media is also objectively a good thing. Banning everyone would be better.
Porn doesn't have anywhere close to the impact as a lifetime of mass surveillance and government control that impacts every aspect of your life, forever.
