It was bullshit then too and their perspective hasn't shifted much. They still claim to be libertarians for fuck's sake.
I think they were criticizing the government and how we consistently have two shitty options.
Doesn't stan decide at the end of the episode it's still best to choose the lesser shit option ? But there is some critique about how the people aren't really represented anymore by politicians. Maybe they never were.
I do believe the creators have changed their position on a number of topics over the years. Like global warming.
They often criticize the left but they criticize the right even more.
I mean cartman is the character that represents the right conservative the most and the show makes it a point that cartman embodies all the worst traits of humans.
