What is enshittification?
The phenomenon of online platforms gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements and sponsored content, in order to increase profits. (Cory Doctorow, 2022, extracted from Wikitionary) source
The lifecycle of Big Internet
We discuss how predatory big tech platforms live and die by luring people in and then decaying for profit.
Embrace, extend and extinguish
We also discuss how naturally open technologies like the Fediverse can be susceptible to corporate takeovers, rugpulls and subsequent enshittification.

There is an early 00 manifesto set out by design groups stating Print is dead.
It may be existing at an Arts and Craft level but I think print is dead at mainstream. As you mentioned the media produced and the tools dictates the design movements.
I love print. The feel the smell, the care, the questioning of how someones eyes will dance through page...or poster. And of course the and the idea it will exist forever...not like digital that can be deleted tomorrow.
But its now a niche connoisseur practice rather than everywhere. Information design went from a technical problem to be solved - to the most boring thing ever. Print costs money and is just too labour-some for a lot of people.
