Fediverse vs Disinformation
Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.
What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.
By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

Inherently peaceful person LMAO
Actual terrorist supporter, genocide denier is an inherently peaceful person.
Why did that peaceful person say: "We think the houthis, Ansar Allah, are doing what luffy(anime pirate from one peace) would do." For context, what they were doing was kidnapping civilians and holding them hostage. Not to mention a bit of slavery on the side.
Why did he say: "I don't have a problem with Hezbollah", seems very peaceful indeed.
He said Russia was justified in taking Krimea.
He doesn't believe in the Uygur genocide in China.
He literally tweeted a picture of the gun that killed Japanese politician at a US senator. What was he trying to say there?
Get that communist, Russia supporting fuck out of Europe. We don't want your radicals here.
Death to israel, mr rat
Yea? What's gonna happen to the Israelis living there?
I don't see how that really even matters at this point, but probably something like what happened to the whites in South Africa, although the white society in South Africa wasn't as nearly as brutal as israeli society.
So come to think about it, i'm thinking more of something like the french in algeria if you want i guess.
Oh look... a kapo has shown up.
Shouldn't you be off peddling your precious Zionist rape hoax while crying over footage of burning Merkavas, hasbara?
You are a disgusting person and need to talk to actual humans for once.
What would you know about humans, kapo?
You've never been one.
You do realize nobody is going to take such extreme claims seriously without you providing evidence right?
When and if you do no matter how many edgey clips you can carefully extract from a broader point Hasan is making to portray him as endorsing antisemitism or needless violence it will become obvious you are attempting to construct a flimsy narrative.
I will reiterate if you don't like Hasan that is fine, if you think he is full of shit sure ok whatever believe what you want but if you publicly slander him like this as antisemitic and being a violent person who actually endorses extremist violence expect to be thoroughly discredited in your position on this as you are participating knowingly or unknowingly in a dangerous normalization of genocide.
Ah, yes everything is out of context.
What's the context then? For any one of my points?
I never said anything about antisemitism, but I'd say there's like 50% chance of that at least.
I'm normalizing genocide which one? The Holodomor Hasan doesn't believe in, the Uygur genocide he doesn't believe in? Funny how it's always the ones done by communists that are fake in his opinion.
What the hell do these other Genocides that the US, the country I am from, has FAR less direct impact on than the Palestinian Genocide have to do with the legitimacy of my interest in wanting the Palestinian Genocide to stop?
Replace me with Hasan Piker in that question and I ask you again, what does it have to do with Hasan Piker as regards to the Palestinian Genocide?
You are committing a textbook case of whataboutism.
...and for the record no Hasan Piker does not deny the Holomodor what the hell? Cite your sources fool.
I am uninterested in your feelings on what Hasan Piker thinks about the Uhygurs because China is a separate empire and what is happening there is under the direct mechanisms of the Chinese state and all of the politics that entails. What we can do is at best indirect, so sure let us talk about it but don't you dare try to push forward the idea that somebody FROM THE US like me should turn away from the Palestinian Genocide to focus on the Uhygur Genocide.
To accurately understand what is happening with the Uhygurs from the perspective of the US you have to account for the lens distortion of US culture and media AND Chinese culture and media and once you do that sufficiently for a given topic you then are learning about something that your country has an indirect connection to. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned but shame on you for suggesting it as a distraction to take my focus away from a Genocide occuring under the empire of the US with US weapons and Diplomatic support that is against the interests of the US people, the Palestinian People, Jews across the world and in the end the Israeli people.
(Repost, didn't know about the no twitter link rule) Damn, sounds like the guy's really invested in the Isreal-Palestine conflict. What's his solution/recommendation we should do?
this?
Because I don't have an issue denying entry to people advocating for military sabotage in your country. Also funny to pretend Israel is pulling the strings when the UK literally sanctioned members of the Israeli government XD Like, no Hasan, it's not Israel, it's you supporting military sabotage XD
Couldn't find any explicit denial of the Holodomor. He just conveniently doesn't know why there are so many russian-speaking people in the east of Ukraine. Curious how he understands, that "large number of Jews in the West Bank" is not a valid argument.
