Could be. OP's article mentions Uber, but also mentions speculation that it may have been Amazon. Either way, I'm torn between laughing at corporate stupidity and crying over the enormous waste of resources consumed by the AI usage.
Imagine how many jobs all that money could have provided instead of laying off thousands of employees.
A million dollars would be 10 teachers at 6 figures, could have been 5 thousand teachers for a year.
Or put that money in a fund and pay 300 teachers at 100K indefinitely from the returns.
