As someone who loves driving and live in a sane country with great public transport.

Filling up my SEAT Leon FR PHEV hatchback costs about 70USD, getting a public transport pass for a month which gives you unlimited travel on all busses, all trams, the underground network, all trains and a few ferries In the entire region, costs about 112USD.

Unless I drive VERY little I will need to fill up two times a month minimum.

Public transport for a month is far cheaper than just the fuel for a car for a month.
