He has abused the modlog to claim 'harassment', which I have never engaged in. I have not even interacted with Rimu in any way for days prior to getting kicked from the PieFed developer Matrix channels.
He has decided to mass ban 20 users because they have spoken out against his erratic and hostile behaviour as of late.
Honnestly, that's better that way for you all and for Rimu. He needs a break and you all too. Yes, there is too much griefs from both side. I'm staying away from it, it gives me a peace of mind. For me, that ban list is a good start for Rimu, he also deleted the post on Unruffled and AI. He is simply distancing himself.
In few day, i hope we can start writting a new page. Otherwise, we won't be able to mediate with both side. Zagorath reached us and wanted to initiate a dialogue between you, Quokk and Rimu.

However, I told Zagorath that it wasn't the right time. There is still lot anger so we weren't going anywhere. As much i would like, we can't open a discussion yet. We have to wait, like any IRL relationship.
Maybe we will never be able to talk and work together as we used to. Maybe we will find some room but it will be different. Dunno.
But, we can relay some ideas as the one that unruffled shared about modlog but not yet and i have to remove some part. I tried to see your the comment about the updated version of the modlog but there is a login wall.
And there is a better idea :3 you can pour your own ideas in your new Piefed fork and it will inspire lot people. I'm sure you will enjoy the crafting part. That's fun.

Distancing oneself looks a lot different from launching instance bans and handing other admins a slice of their personal beef.
True but that's also distancing. Admins following the ban list aren't worth your time. Would you follow them or also ban them ? It's better that way.

Just hours ago he asked other admins to ban us, resulting in feddit.online following him and both of them abusing the modlog to claim I am harassing him.
I do not view this as distancing himself, but expanding what he is doing and recruiting others to continue to target us.
Likewise I reached out days ago to initiate dialogue and was met with being kicked from all Matrix channels and instance banned from .social.
Removing an old post where many people disagreed with him means nothing to me while he continues to engage in this childish behaviour.
I’m sorry, but I can no longer see this being resolved as long as Rimu continues to act as antagonistic, dismissive, and immature as he has been.
Removing the post himself is different from deleting it myself, and you where able to disagree. However, that doesn't mean his opinion about it changed but that he is moving on.
For the discussion, just follow yours fellings. Or wait a little.
The ban list is a good thing, don't you think ? Instance following this ban aren't worth your time. That's also a way to resolve things until our mind is clear.
I also had a huge argument with a fedizen, and there were no other way to stop each other. It continued and utterly destroyed the space we created. Overtime, since we repeatly went into argument, it wasn't a matter of which side was right but keeping our community alive since most of people will start to move on another space. Even if it is a ban list instead of blocking, it's better than nothing.
As for discussion, Rimu has a bug with Matrix (firefox) that autodecline new chat. So maybe you should try again. Apparently, some admins from dbzer0 already joined him successfully. Or you can try Zulip.
