Enshittification
Welcome to Enshittification
A community for everyone who misspelt it as enshitification.
"I the onceler felt sad as I watched them all go, but business is business and business must grow, regardless of crummies in tummies you know."
This is your space to document the decay, demise, and destruction of the tech world as we know it. Share stories, articles, and firsthand experiences that capture the ongoing decline of once-celebrated platforms, services, and companies in the late stage capitalist landscape.
From monopolistic corporate shifts to anti-user updates and the relentless pursuit of profit over quality—if it’s broken, bloated, or just plain bad, it belongs here. We’re here to spotlight the moves that make the tech world worse, one piece of enshittification at a time.

It has been clear for ages that bambu labs is run by shitty people. Idk why this is still a topic of discussion. The 3D printing community has gone downhill if this shit doesnt lead to a big boycott.
It's often not clear for everyone, even if it's clear for you. As a person who's not into 3d printing yet, but interested, all I know is youtubers that mention some sponsor brand, and often its bambu. So I'm glad I see this pass by on c/all before I actually take the jump and guess wrong.
True, for new people its different of course. I meant "topic of discussion" inside the community.
I don't blame the youtubers that much, its not that theyre sell-outs, its that sponsorships are literally their main income for all the work they put into running their channel and producing videos/content. They probably expect most users to skip past the sponsor section anyways.
It's the oldest profession for many reasons.
Hell, there's a species of simian that researchers taught the concept of currency to (ie. value markers/proxies), and the first thing they developed was prostitution. 🤷🏼♂️
Heck, I had a used MakerBot replicator 2 for years and bambu is what got me motivated to get into the modern era of printers, and boy, it has delivered.
Despite all this poor decision-making, it really is a great machine, it's too bad the company doesn't seem to be able to read the room on what people want.
Depends what you think this community is. If you think it's Youtubers, no, they will still be sucking from the Bambu teat. The problem is Youtube changed the business model for content creators such that unless you have sponsorship and a Patreon account, you don't make money anymore from YouTube. They don't care because they want new users, not experienced printers.
