House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Sunday said Democrats will not focus on impeaching President Trump if they regain a majority in the lower chamber after midterm elections.

“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader added.

The House minority leader has lauded Democrats’ push for redistricting nationwide in an effort to pick up additional House seats and signaled that the party will advocate more for working-class Americans, after Democrats saw losses from the key demographic in the 2024 election.

PS this is low effort memes, I'm not going to defend the meme in the comments - feel free to argue with yourselves

Edit: I'm not american so you're extra wasting your time arguing 🤷‍♀️

Never mind, it's super old propaganda aimed at dividing the working class along racial lines so we don't unite against the wealthy oligarchs...

I totally disagree with this take.

Settlers isn't written for white people, but it sure is handy. If we look past defensiveness it is a useful analysis of why class consciousness struggles so hard in north america. If people acknowledge the privilege they are better able to understand how things like promises to lower the cost of living is a tool to be swayed into complacency. Once you can understand that you are in a better position to achieve class consciousness and see past how oligarchs use race/origin to divide us.

I get a feeling I should state "acknowledge the privilege" isn't some public declaration/self flagellation. I just mean looking at oneself and understanding how we fit into the world.
