I might be wrong about this about I suspect that not only did support for Israel hurt them, the whole "kamala is for they/them" thing might have done a lot of damage and its quite possible the storm revealing the latter would kick up might be the main thing they fear.

It was the Democrat's strategy that resulted in low voter turnout. The votes were up for grabs, they ran away from them. It's not like the campaign was unaware of what messaging and policies were unpopular. They deliberately chose to ignore it. They chose to run to the right on policy and messaging. If they gave a shit about being an opposition to fascism, about actually winning, they would have heeded all the warning signs and run a different campaign. One that would galvanize their own base, one that would fracture the Republican base. Instead, they prioritized the interest of their capital donors, with zero consideration of the views of the constituents that they are supposed to represent.

“This was a preventable disaster,” Cook said, “but Harris and the Democratic Party leadership prioritized the agendas of corporate donors and gambled on a centrist path, while largely abandoning working-class, young, and progressive voters.”

We know what the autopsy is about, and why they won't release it.
