Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

I voted for green party candidate. Are you proud for supporting the genocide & 20k children that Biden helped fund killing & sent bombs to kill them, and that his administration vetoed ceasefire resolutions, & that Kamala Cheney couldn't think of anything she'd do differently?
Strawman fallacy, these people do not support the genocide, they support electing the lesser evil.
Lesser evil? Mass slaughtering children is just evil. There is no moral high ground when that is what you support.
How do you not understand those words? Lesser evil: the less evil one, which Biden is compared to Trump. And you voted on something that was never going to happen, which basically makes it a non-vote. Voting for Biden isn't anyone's end game, it's about doing what can be done with the current choices, then after that hope for an even lesser evil to vote and so on. This thread is about you, but you clearly don't comprehend that.
Are you referring to the 2022 bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol, the 2024 bombing of a maternity hospital in Kyiv, or the 2025 attacks against children’s hospitals in Kherson, Kharkiv, Kamianske, and Odessa? (These are just the results from the first page of search results.)
Or are you referring to Russia literally stealing Ukrainian children from their families to try to erase their culture?
I say those things to say this: We can all pretend to be stupid when it suits us. I know you weren’t thinking of Ukrainian children. It suits me right now to ensure those examples are fresh on your mind.
The game of politics is still being played even if you chose to make moves that didn’t contribute strategically. The U.S. system is not democratic, and unless it is reformed, voters must compromise their morals to achieve some of their aims. It sucks, but it’s the reality.
You made a call. You thought it was the most moral thing you could do at the time.
Rather than attack your past decisions, or try to convince you to see things from my worldview — I want to ask if you could go back in time and explain the current state of the world to yourself do you think you would make the same voting decisions again?
Hamas October 7 incursion was arguably a genocide against Israel. For example Israel Gaza: Hamas raped and mutilated women on 7 October, BBC hears:
And Hamas kidnapped 250 Israeli civilians and soldiers were also taken as hostages to the Gaza Strip, including 30 kidnapped children.
This was straight out an act of war. Hamas, with the majority support of Gaza Palestinians, started this war. While I do not endorse everything Israel has done in Gaza, the basic justification for Israel's invasion of Gaza to rescue their hostages was 100% legitimate. And Biden and Harris set limits on what Israel could do, unlike Trump.
“A genocide against Israel”🤣
This is the sort of shit Democrat voters say unironically.
So took you took action that helped the GOP, instead of biting the sour apple and trying to prevent the GOP from winning, you helped fracture the opposition to them, for what?
The weird satisfaction of avoiding a hypothetical scenario that would have been less bad than the current one.
Give yourself a nickel, you played yourself well.
No I participated in Democracy and voted for who I felt best represented me. I voted for the Palestinian choice and stood in solidarity with Palestinians. You know the people you still mock and claim deserve what they got and deserve to die, and that you claim are stupid. The only people playing here are Democrats. They absolutely give zero shits about Palestinians or Muslims. They only care about Zionists. Heck, you can't even get Democratic leadership to vote still on ending the funding for this illegal war, and many of them have come out in support of Trump's actions.
With the current political system in the US when you have a system based on FPTP, a ridiculously undemocratic system, you can't use normal democratic rules.
You need to play the game within the rules.
The green party has zero chance to get into congress or gain any influence, they will only steal votes from the Democrats, and that will only serve the GOP.
Until the US rids it self from FPTP, any vote for any other party other than the Dems will gain the GOP.
Democrats deserve to lose then. I mean I honestly don't see any difference at this point between Zionist and Democrats. They both do evil things and then claim they are the victims. If only people like you would actually have a moral compass then you'd spend your time criticizing anyone who didn't vote for a green party candidate.
I get your feeling of hopelessness, the best you can do right now is to work to promote proportional representation over FPTP, and while doing that keep voting to keep the GOP out of power, meaning voting democrat.
So you want me to vote against the Palestinian's preferred choice of Green Party for AIPAC-owned pro-genocide Democrats in order to save the Palestinians, because you believe Palestinians are too stupid to know what is good for them? Was it good for you when ICE, trained by the IDF, killed a few Americans? That is who your politicians vote to support. Your choices have consequences.
I want you to limit the harm caused by the US.
You are laser focused on Palestine, but look beyond that, would Kamela have kidnapped, Venezuela's president, would she have blockaded Cuba, would she have attacked Iran, alienated NATO and other allies, stopped helping Ukraine?
There is more going on here than Palestine.
She certainly talked about attacking Iran and was praising the biggest war criminal of the last two decades, Dick Cheney. I don't think she would have been as bad globally, but that's not how it works. If you can't say no to genocide then you don't get to claim to be the victim.
Put up or shut up. Prove it.
Are you seriously that dumb? She said her commitment to Israel is unwaivering & that she supports taking whatever action is necessary against Iran. She said poor Israelis only killed 20k kids but they're the victims.

I'm not sure who you are letting influence you about what Palestines want. But they would certainly prefer democrat's ME policy over Trump's. It's that simple.
A majority of Palestinians voted for Green Party in 2024. If you voted in solidarity with them, you would not have voted for a Democrat.
And what did that get them?
A stronger GOP position
It certainly has exposed how weak Democrats are
And they would have been stronger if more people had voted for them.
Look, of you want real change and a better democracy in the US, the only time that may actually happen is with the Dems.
Sure, both parties are benefitting from the current system, but the GOP benefits far, far more.
The only realistic way to bring about real change in the US political system is to get rid of FPTP and introduce proportional representation all over.
The GOP will absolutely refuse to do that, without FPTP they loose tools like Jerrymandering and can't manipulate the result as easily.
An FPTP system will naturally move toward a two party equilibrium, this is what the Dems have coasted on.
Both parties will loose influence with proportional representation, because as soon as it is implemented across the board, smaller parties like the Green party will actually have a chance of getting into congress and make their voters heard.
You want to stop the US from supporting Israel?
Then you need to play the long game, make the Dems strong, push for idealistic candidates who want real change, keep them in power, and keep pushing for the changes that are needed.
Once proportional representation is implemented, you still need to keep the Dems strong for a while, to make sure that the new legislation is locked in people's minds and prevent the GOP to immediately rip it out.
After a few elections, then you can start focusing on smaller parties that pushes your actual agenda.
As the saying goes, the best time for changes you want to see now, was 30 years ago, the second best time is now.
Changes like this will take decades to implement and gain acceptance, that is the timeframe you are working with.
If that's true, then they're dumbasses too.
Not as dumb as Kamala Cheney
Fuck their "feelings".
People like you expose Democrats as the racist, hypocritical, fascists they really are.
And every single time you open your piehole you expose yourself as a magat
Democrats: If you're opposed to mass murdering children, you're a MAGAt
I was unaware the mass murdering of children stopped, rather than ramping up, once the MAGAts took power...
Trump is awful, but a significant majority of their deaths happened when Biden was funding & supporting it.
If you admit this was about who "deserves" a political consequence, you have just admitted you never gave a fuck about Gaza to begin with. It was about weird punishment for you. Thanks for admitting that.
No, you voluntarily chose to pretend like you were participating, and instead actively helped get Trump into office.
Yeah, we know that you supported Russian asset Jill stein. For such good and noble reasons.. 😂😂😂
LOL, you repeat that with no evidence. Do you repeat the 40k dead peaceful protestors too? What about the weapons of mass destruction? I mean with Kamala Cheney praising that war criminal, you must believe that lie, right?
I don't know what you're trying to imply but you act in support of the kremlin so that's kinda all that anyone needs to know about you.
No, it is you that supports authoritarian & fascism. You voted for an ardent apartheid supporter.
You voted for Donald Trump with extra steps and I don't care how much you dispute it, the truth can and will never change about that.
