I do. Unless you are in immediate danger, to me, it's running for the hills instead of getting involved and fighting back. It's a cop out. But to each their own I suppose.
Some people are in immediate danger, although those probably aren't the ones who have the means to expatriate, and yeah I do understand that point of view and it's valid, but some people are just tired, you know. You have to weigh your options and choose where you want to put your energy.
A third of the country voted for fascists and a third didn't care. What exactly would anyone be fighting for?
Idk, getting rid of fascism so that maybe people have a chance at suffering less? You know, caring about someone other than yourself? Beating it while it's still incompetent and we still have a chance? But ya, let's advocate for leaving the country, screw that third of people that voted with you would so easily abandon. You're a coward and a cuck if you give up the fight to run, especially when the election was so dubious and their grasp on power so weak.
I mean, I get that. Fighting the good fight, etc.
But my point being- not enough people give a flying fuck. I don't begrudge anyone not wasting more of their life let alone their kids' lives trying to fight for something that people who are in it clearly don't think is important enough to fight against.
I'm honestly just tired of it all. Fight so long and people can't do the bare minimum to vote and you're telling people who don't sacrifice even more than they already have that they're a cuck? Pathetic attitude IMO.

On probability, and informed a little extra by your profile, you're a white male who makes above the national average salary, probably quite a bit above based on your active participation in curling, not a very accessible sport. You're on Lemmy, which by probability means you likely work in IT or tech or programming or similar. So I'm pretty god damn confident I know enough to know you haven't sacrificed shit and leaving the country would be as big a bitch move as is possible to make. Being exhausted from reading social media and feeling burned out by the news and MAGAts isn't sacrifice.
