I'm from the UK, but that's irrelevant as I didn't say democracy here was older than your country, did I?
My point stands.
You brought up the pub in order to compare it to the age of democracies, so of course it's relevant. But that pub is even older when compared to the British democracy than American democracy, isn't it?
If the pub's age compared to a democracy isn't relevant now, then it wasn't relevant when you brought it up, either.
You are the one who brought it up, and I am using it in exactly the same way that you did. If you don't like it, then you shouldn't have brought it up.
Of course, I expected you were from the UK, but I knew why you didn't write the UK in your original comment, because most of the things you said about the US in that comment could be said in even harsher terms about the UK.
Your pub may be older, but don't pretend your house is in order. Your culture is being manipulated, exploited, and ruined the same ways as ours, and by the same class of elitist psychopaths. Frankly, appealing to the fact that your society has several centuries on ours gives you even less of an excuse.
