Picking a fight with Hasan Piker while midterms are gearing up is the dumbest fucking idea. The consultant class really is a problem when it comes to meaningful change. (TikTok screencap)

There's no "possibly" about it. Republicans will win some elections. Fascism now, or fascism later. I want someone in office who will mitigate the fascism that inevitably comes later, not enable it.

I mean look at the last couple of elections. Do you seriously think that, in hindsight, Biden winning 2020 was a good thing? 2021–2024 under Biden wasn't as bad as it would have been under Trump, but it sure as shit wasn't worth letting Trump win '24.

how many years

Ideally 2. That's why I'm voting in primaries. But assuming Newsom (or some equivalent) makes it to the ballot, then ideally 6. If nobody votes for the blue fascist in '28, maybe we can get someone worth voting for in '32. If every democrat votes for Hitler (D), then we have a lot more years of fascism to look forward to in the future.

Yes, I do firmly believe Biden winning was preferable to a second Trump term. But it doesn't matter because Trump didn't win as a result of it Biden. Trump won because the DNC handpicked a candidate no none of us wanted in the face of vocal opposition.

You expect fascism to disappear in 2 years by letting the fascist win...so why didn't that happen in 2019? How many more 2-years-of-fascism do we need? And what happens when fascism breaks the system so thoroughly, progressive candidates have even less of a chance of winning?

These anti-voting arguments never seem thought through. They only make sense in a fantasy world.

Trump didn't win as a result of it Biden.

Biden wasn't the sole factor that got Trump elected, but he did have four years to prevent a second Trump term and failed to do so. And why do you think the DNC hand picked that particular candidate? I wonder if Biden had something to do with it.

You expect fascism to disappear in 2 years by letting the fascist win...

I guess I'm done with this argument. No point talking to someone who can't read. Just for funsies I'll answer this in earnest before I block you

No, I don't expect fascism to disappear in 2 years by letting a fascist win. I said that ideally, we'll have to put up with fascism for another 2 years, because that's when the next presidential election is, and hopefully we'll have a progressive candidate worth voting for. Maybe even someone who's willing to throw the criminals in the Republican party in prison.

Realistically, Newsom or some other equivalent piece of shit will be on the ballot. In that case, him winning doesn't mean no more fascism, it means that we get four more years of fascism after he's out of office. Ideally, if he loses by a wide margin, then in 2032, we'll have a progressive candidate worth voting for. Maybe even someone who's willing to throw the criminals in the Republican party in prison.

And what happens when fascism breaks the system so thoroughly, progressive candidates have even less of a chance of winning?

That's what Trump is trying to do right now, as a direct result of Biden having won in 2020 and failing to do anything to prevent it. Biden had a hand in this exact thing happening.

"Let me just get the last word in before I block you"

Your conclusion doesn't match your argument. You're pinning the shittiness of the DNC on Biden winning 2020.

The problem is that your ideas work great in a vacuum but fall apart instantly when applied to the real world.

So, if the block wasn't just a bluff, do you think the world would be in a better place if Harris won in 2024?

Do you think we'd be closer to freedom it Trump won in 2020?
