Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

MODERATORS

Donald Trump has been condemned as a “vile, disgusting man” and a “sick human being” after gloating over the death of Robert Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Mueller, a decorated Vietnam war veteran who led a politically explosive investigation into Trump, died on Friday aged 81, triggering a callous reaction from the US president.

“Robert Mueller just died,” Trump responded quickly on his Truth Social platform. “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

Even by the president’s own norm-shredding standards, the comment was unusually harsh. There was a chorus of opprobrium from the “Never Trump” movement in his own Republican party.

Michael Steele, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, wrote on X: “@realDonaldTrump you are a vile disgusting man. Petty and pathetic, you are a hypocrite who reeks of weakness and insecurities with no moral core. Regardless of the politics, the American people should be embarrassed and ashamed for ever having entrusted you with leadership.”

Bro, or sis, it's absolutely true. A 30 ought six can shoot through a half inch of steel at that range. This has been demonstrated by the gun enthusiasts online. They shot all manner of objects, chunks of beef, steel plate, you name it, to demonstrate.

These rifles kill moose, elk, bear, from a distance. They have a serious foot per second to them. Like military rifles, but with a bigger caliber.

As with the other points. It's true, the story is bs. It's undeniably true.

I've shoot dozens of deer with a 30.06, and they also don't explode if you hit them in the neck. The round will pass through something that soft at that range without expanding or tumbling, retaining most of its energy instead of transferring it to the target - especially if you're using an FMJ or match round that's not designed to expand.

It's actually one of the reasons it's kinda fallen out of style for hunting. Despite its muzzle energy, it's not a particularly precise or effective as a hunting round versus a more modern cartridge. Something like a 6.5 Creedmoor will use less powder to shoot a smaller projectile more precisely and transfer more energy to the target.

The gun enthusiasts beg to differ, and have videos to prove it. There are always people to defend the establishment online, and they aren't always sincere. I am referring to you.

Dude - I am a gun enthusiast. I have over 50 of them.

I have 3 different 30.06 rifles (Remington 700, Springfield M1903, and M1 Garand). I've killed animals with 30.06, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, 44 mag, 7.62.54R, .270, .223, 9mm, .357 magnum, 10mm, 12-gauge, 20-gauge, .22 rimfire, and more. I know a thing or 2 about this shit.

Maybe it was just a crazy kid with a gun. Maybe not go all molten steel beams on this one.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works -1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe you are denying reality because parts of the right wing are pushing reality for a change on this one.

No. I am positive that others are The Architects of this. I like many others suspect Israel and their factions, because reasons. Including Kirk rejecting their board pricks, yes that's not a typo, rejecting their vision for his own not that he's a good guy he's a piece of shit obviously. They wanted to turn this into a Nazi youth Organization, and to police schools. Which it turns out is what they are doing now.

I am all for waiting until the evidence is presented and not a lot of conjecture and nebulous rabbit holes. It just sounds very tinfoiley.

Ha ha, ok wait for the evidence as our system is so trustworthy.
