This is why every phone is a slab of metal and glass BTW - any moving part breaks so much more often than the computer and frame itself.

I had this cool slide phone with an LCD screen that could access some basic stuff on the front. This was like iPod touch but pre smart phone as we know them era. That stupid thing broke every 3 weeks on me in the most visually comical way. It had this spring assist that was very snappy and after a hundred or two opens it would just fly off the rails with enough force to usually snap the ribon connecting it. I had to replace that sucker 6 times before Verizon would let me switch to a flip phone of a similar value. Never again will I get a phone with moving parts.

As boring as my phone is now, I haven’t said “I broke the screen off my phone again” for almost 20 years.

I just crack the screen. 🤣
