I really wasn't expecting that color out of nature, it looked more like a red LED emission! (I say, as someone who does not really look at nature unless there is a cute animal around, so perhaps I'm very misguided.) But either way, two birds hopping around clearly in my view for a decent amount of time, even though I was on the other side of the street. I stopped and watched them until they went behind a bush and I could not see them anymore.

Congratulations, you are now a birdwatcher! Allow me to introduce Shazam for birds:

Merlin app (free): merlin.allaboutbirds.org/

It also shows you what birds you can expect in your area and has useful photos that can help you ID. Also, if you want to blow your mind some more take a look at these bird eye colours:

Crazy stuff, huh?

If you're interested in learning more and getting into the hobby I'd be happy to point you in the right direction!

Unfortunately not compatible with my phone. I do have the Audubon app though! I am interested in learning more about birdwatching.

Maybe you can try whoBIRD? It's available on F-droid and this app doesn't require you to register with your emai if that is somethong that concerns you.
