to be fair we do have power outside violence. We can protest, we can be as unsupportive of national things as we can and supportive of others nonsupport (supporting government shutdowns). People like to dissuade people from doing it but 100% america would be completely taken over by trump now if not for the resistance that is making it harder for him. we can be sand in the gears.

The peaceful civil rights movement only worked because there was a clear message from people like the Black Panthers what the alternative was.

which is an opinion but not mine.

History would disagree with you. Protests only work when they inevitably lead to violence - and I wish that wasn’t the case

Ussually violence comes to the protests. For example the 1877 railroad strike comes to mind.

Yea that was kinda my point, I put it across badly

yeah I think this is your gut history. Because violence is always present in society people point to nonviolent protests and say well anything that worked always had violence. Also its not just protest its not supporting local and state level and not national level. Look at where you work. What does it support? Do you work for local or state governemnt then do your darndest. do you work for the federal governement. take your time. if its a corp what does it do and what is it supporting. if you make a lot now is the time to push for all the screwy tax loopholes and put the money you make toward orgs that are fighting this. if you make a little at least you are not providing much tax revenue. if you don't do ira contributions and such now is the time to stretch and do the traditional to push any tax payments to the future and not provide it now. bypass things you like to spend on and consider it double duty of helping yourself and starving the beast. there are many many things people can do.
