I wasn't sure if it was a joke and I read another comment here that seemed to indicate that it was not. Thanks for clearing that up, unfortunately sarcasm is easily lost across the internet.

Nah it's not furries. It is just the boykisser meme that is often made to call out a person that may or may not be in the closet and mock them. It mostly conveys itself as rage bait / just being annoying.
So if the krita mascot starts saying stuff like that, that's a valid reason to not continue using the software.
I do like the boykisser meme, but I'm just playing into the joke
