First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links 😉 (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! 🤘

Irish modern thrashers. All their songs are filled to the brim with infectious grooves, speed, and heaps of fun thrown in. Kinda like the British Lich King. Not to be taken too seriously and as a result, people who dislike the more light-hearted, silly, fun side of thrash might not enjoy this one.

Brand new single released today from Sodom! This is a release teasing material for their upcoming album: The Arsonist, releasing June 27th 2025.

If this is anything to go by, The Arsonist should be a very strong album. Showcasing the anger and brutality we've come to expect from Sodom, complete with brilliant riffs and technicality. The upcoming LP will surely be a hit.

I guess time will tell, and we will review this statement after the release!

Power/speed metal band that sounds a lot like Artillery and Metal Church! Giving you my pick for today this album's titular track, Master Control. Tight and excellently written, this is the last album they made - and through a few breakups here and there, they're still together as of this post.

I will be absent for about a week, as I'm going on a little vacation and won't have access to my usual stuff! I wish you all the best and take care till I return - expect an upload next Wednesday!!

Havok still bringing the bacon on their latest EP, today's pick is probably the best from it though. They add some technical thrash flavors to this, but it's still definitely Havok.

Got some blackened speed metal today! Opener for Hellripper's 3rd full length album. Great sound, awesome speed. Good shit lol.

An all-time classic, doubt it needs any introduction. This speed metal track has influenced so many acts old and modern, and continues to be one hell of a banger to this day. Punishing double bass throughout, tons of classic solos, and the iconic voice of God himself. Nothing beats the classics.

Blackened death thrash? Melodic death thrash? Who knows? Once again Skeletonwitch's mysterious magical formula proves just as intriguing and effective as ever.

Underground heavy/power metal band opened up this epic album with a speed metal song, so have this as my pick today! Catchy and fun, expect the expected tho, there's nothing new here - though it is a fantastic example of this genre.

Beekeeper - Vegeta (lemmy.world)

Fairly newer thrash band from San Diego, fronted by a woman with ferocity! Today's pick is their homage to notorious DBZ villain/anti-hero prince Vegeta lol.

I did not know Warrel Dane (R.I.P.) had a thrash/power band before Nevermore. Been spinning this one a couple of days and now share with you my pick for today from this album. He definitely sounds younger here, maybe he won't be so grating to listen to lol. This band definitely doesn't have the groove elements of Nevermore, so it's a little more "pure." :p

Another song from the Colombian blackened thrash band. I love their raw intensity, and how their music definitely has the blackened edge, but I can still imagine the crowd moshing like crazy!

Groove/thrash metal from Wisconsin, USA with some aggression and speed. The voice may throw some off, but it's got one hell of a solo.

Ok time for an actual masterpiece. Behold Judas Priest's speed metal all time classic. Epic solos, blistering speed thanks to the drumming, Halford's vocals soaring high above it all. Doesn't get better than this. Matter of fact, this whole album is 10/10.

Forget St. Anger... THIS is the true thrash metal masterpiece! Every single person who shuns this album is an idiot who clearly knows NOTHING about thrash and was clearly born yesterday. Fucking posers.

This iconic legend of a song opens with the greatest most powerful death growls to ever grace my ears - and I've heard Six Feet Under! The sheer genius of Destruction is displayed as the powerful growls continue in complete silence, building tension.

When the instruments hit, I am completely covered in goosebumps every time. It can only be described as auditory bliss. Each instrument sings together in unison like nothing I've ever heard - and I've heard Hellhammer.

The raspy vocals truly dominate the listener like a silverback trying to prove its superiority. Trust me I know what I'm talking about, I listen to I'M THE MAN BY ANTHRAX!!!

Thrash needs to stop being so brutal. It's just full of pretentious posers who think they can shred better than everyone else. Well I've got news for you! Take notes from The Least Successful Human Cannonball if you want to be more successful.

Ever since starting my daily uploads here in this community, I have been looking forward to this day. Everything I have done from then till now has culminated in this very post. I present to you my pick-- nay, my GIFT for you all today! You should feel #blessed.

After a rough start in their career, Metallica seemed to cobble together some rickety albums that have their fans but never seemed to grasp the world. Then they released the Black Album, Load, and ReLoad, easily top tier stuff that should be taught in school, practiced during band & choir and consume every facet of life. All thanks to that wonderful stuff called passion (not money, get that silly idea out of your head), why the fuck else would Metallica release such timeless classics, these works of art??

Little did we know Metallica were going to release their magnum opus some time in 2003, with a simply magnificent drum sound that would gather the masses they desired. Lyrics penned as if they were written by Shakespeare himself - "My life style determines my death style" - "I'm madly in anger with you" - "Get the FUCK out of here, I just wanna get the fuck away from me" - "Kill kill kill kill kill kill kill." Simply marvelous. 👏 👏 👏 Guitars did away with those distracting noisy solos and while they play too fast in some sections, they really know how to capitalize on their superior Groovy side - see Shoot Me Again.

All in all, I don't know how we mere mortals comprehend this musical masterpiece. It caresses our ears in our most based lizard brains, speaks to our very soul, our evolutionary genetics. Metallica have outdone themselves and would never again come this close to divinity. My only regret is that this album ends. BUT ALAS, That Is What The Repeat Setting Is For On Our Streaming Services!!!!

spoiler~Happy Fuckin April Fool's Day everyone lmao~

totally real Tidal, legit Official Website, yep it's RateYourMusic, definitely Encyclopaedia Metallum

Today's pick has been commonly played live, and is this compilation album's opener, Power Trip always keep my head banging, even from their earlier stuff! This album is a re-release of their smaller demos and EPs in their beginning before the debut album.

Vader - Sothis (resources.tidal.com)

Classic era Vader, Polish death thrash. Before their breakout album Litany. This track is probably my favorite from the album, apart from Silent Empire, got some great riffs.

From one of Sacred Reich's more groove orientated eras 🤮. I actually quite like this song, despite the rest of the release.

Swedish blackened thrash with some death metal DNA; has a decent production, and a few nods to Exodus in this particular track. ;) Got a great solo too! Different vocalist from the first four albums, took me a little to get used to when listening to the rest of the album bit it absolutely fits.

Tidal, Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum

Nothing like the classics!

One of my favourite Venom tracks. Emphasis on "one of", most early Venom tracks have each qualified as my favourite at some point in time ;D.

Today's pick is for @[email protected]! Warhammer is a Hellhammer worship band - they go out of their way to try to reproduce the sound that Hellhammer created back in the day, they only use the oldest outdated equipment and definitely play in the same style. There's a bit of a twist as they use some lower growls with the typical black/thrash fare. Only gripe I have is that they seem to be seriously self-loathing of alllll of their old stuff, I can't really find it anywhere save for Youtube.

Today's pick is interesting to me cuz I heard this artist when I started my metal journey. I would browse all of the reviews on a website called The Metal Observer (which seems to be defunct nowadays), see if they included free tracks to download and would make a whole-ass cd of random tracks. This is how I discovered bands like Belphegor, Gojira before they became so friggin popular, a Swedish techdeath band that also used the name Havok, and lastly Anger As Art.

This band blew me away as a late teenager for some stupid reason, maybe it was the album art, or how "underground" it was, I don't even know. But they play some mid-grade thrash that for some reason still sticks to me today. Throughout the years I would look for signs of life from these guys and I would see they release albums but it kept me scratching my head as I never saw them on any streaming services. But then I looked for their Bandcamp, lo and behold here they are. Which makes sense as Bc is definitely the best way to support artists.

..Aaanyway, with that cool story done, here's some pissed off thrash lol.

Bandcamp, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum, Tidal (with a live album of decent production quality)

Fairly competent modern crossover again today. Split up band from Washington D.C. Same vein as most of the recent modern crossover acts, namely Power Trip.
