Me and a friend went to Latvia to do the TET. I kept having to adjust my GoPro mount and ended up giving up on recording. I tried however to make a small video with the little recording I got.

Gotta say, the little TET we got to do there was awesome. I remember thinking "the route must be wrong. There's no way there's a road on that side of the T-intersectio- oh there it is". Wasn't able to record it, but gee. Prepare for mud if it's been any rain

TL;DR: Self-Driving Teslas Rear-End Motorcyclists, Killing at Least 5

Brevity is the spirit of wit, and I am just not that witty. This is a long article, here is the gist of it:

  • The NHTSA’s self-driving crash data reveals that Tesla’s self-driving technology is, by far, the most dangerous for motorcyclists, with five fatal crashes that we know of.
  • This issue is unique to Tesla. Other self-driving manufacturers have logged zero motorcycle fatalities with the NHTSA in the same time frame.
  • The crashes are overwhelmingly Teslas rear-ending motorcyclists.

Read our full analysis as we go case-by-case and connect the heavily redacted government data to news reports and police documents.

Oh, and read our thoughts about what this means for the robotaxi launch that is slated for Austin in less than 60 days.

Was cruising with my riding group in Virginia, when I took a curve too fast, too wide. Ended up in the hospital, with a broken ankle and badly bruised shoulder.

It could've been worse. FAR worse. Thankfully, I subscribe to ATGATT, and made it out with relatively minor injuries. If you, or anyone you know, thinks it's OK to skimp on riding gear, let this be the reminder you need to hear: it isn't, and WHEN you crash, not if, you will regret not wearing proper gear.

Stay safe on the roads, Lemmy riders.

In the name of more content on Lemmy, I present to you some riding. I apologize for the YouTube platform, I haven't found a viable PeerTube instance yet

I got this FZ6 as my first bike 2022, and at that point I thought I'd swap it out for a different bike within a year.

A pair of heated grips, a windshield, a top box, an upgraded seat, and more than 10000 km later I don't see myself getting rid of this anytime soon...

So I am not a novice rider. Had my first bike for close to 10 years.

The clutch was kinda hard to pull, so i would full fist that clutch. I now have an XSR and I am starting to try out two fingering it. Tho during one ride I feel like i would pull the clutch with my two fingers, but kicking the shifter was kind of hard or something, but then I moved back to full hand and it was smooth again. I do feel i was pulling it entirely out.

How should I improve my technique?

My current bike is an XSR 900 if it matters or anyone is curious.

The X Games has abruptly banned all electric dirt bikes from competition, changing course after those piloting Stark Vargs dominated competitions.

Hopefully this one actually passes, the last two that were introduced that I know of died in the transportation committee.

Weather's great so, uh, take bike appart and hit it with the angle grinder?

Really didn't want to ditch the six pot brakes, I feel it's such a 90's thing, but brakes that work are a useful feature, and an overhaul now is 8 seal and pistons, not 12 seals and pustons.

Actually might finish it after lunch.

Decided to take the backroads instead of the main road when I went to visit my dad ~1 hour away this weekend. I don't understand why I ever take the other road now tbh. It was fairly warm, around 7-10°C, but got colder in the shadier parts of woods and such, still snow and ice on the roadside, but everything went fine. I took my "spring/summer" gloves that are ventilated, was a bit cold, but I've got heated grips, so it worked out in the end. The bike's a Moto Guzzi V85 TT Travel 2022 for anyone interested :).

Stunning weather, a touch chilly though, and 150 km ride back home. Just enough to get comfortable with the sidecar. Ural cT 2022.

I live in central Michigan so winter a thing. The worst of it is over, so I guess I made it. A 30 mile round trip commute to work with snow and ice, with little incident. I did fall once going like 5mph lol, it was pretty silly.

Admittedly, I had alot of factors going for me that many other would be winter commuters likely wouldnt.

I work at a school, so for those real bad days, school would likely be closed. Also, about 22 out of the 30 mile trip is dirt roads, and of those paved miles, about 6 are 55mph speed limit. The whole trip is super low traffic.

I seem to have the perfect bike for it, a Yamaha XT225, and put the fattest Tusk Adventure tires I could find, and finally, put about 50 studs per tire. They were igrip brand (St 11-f). I think Ive only lost 1/100 studs so I'm happy with them, although they were a PITA to install since the bit warped throughout the process, making the 2nd 50 take 2-3x to stud than the 1st 50. Igrip did sent me a free replacment bit though. They seem to give me a good balance of grip between snow, ice, mud and pavement.

Lens fog/freeze was a challenge. Pinlock helped but it will be an electric lens next year.

Hey y'all. I'm honestly lost and feel super down.

  • Facts: CBF1000 sc58
  • Last thing I did was get my alternator and regulator repaired/changed. My alternator was burnt out. The mechanic said that it's am usual problem with this model and the regulator is the problem.
  • I had to learn to take it out and rebuild it myself. About a month ago, I finally put the alternator back in and my bike actually started! I was overjoyed.
  • Since a week now I'm trying to actually ride it again and it won't start. I recharged the battery (Li-ion). When I tried starting it, the battery kinda drained immediately. It just didn't start. Luckily, I have a second (gel) battery that was full. I put that in and my bike didn't even light up. The fuses all look fine to me. The cables should be correct (there aren't that many options).

I just don't even know where to start. Thanks for reading

Seongjun Yun is on the file names on my PC, but searching the name didn't point me to more. In particular I would like one with a Yamaha.

I have never been much for sports and have never had cable, so when ever moto GP was on tv on a random Sunday morning its kind of a treat. I want to keep track of it and even watch some. Where and how do my fellow Lemms do so?

In a statement published to Facebook on Thursday, the Nürburgring cited safety concerns as the reason for the ban. "The different driving dynamics of two- and four-wheelers pose a risk of misunderstandings—especially for motorcyclists," the statement reads. "In order to make the driving experience safer for everyone, cars and motorcycles will be strictly separated in the future."
