Okay, here I go. I tried lots of places, but they just don't do their job. Either they got VERY bad LLMs, either they are biased only to NSFW roleplaying (e.g: Janitor).

can anyone help me on this?

No industrial revolution has ever emerged outside advanced democratic capitalism. This is no accident. Like its predecessors, the AI-driven industrial revolution requires robust institutions to ensure secure property rights, enforceable contracts, the ability to attract and empower talent, efficient allocation of resources, and — crucially — sustained demand.

The People’s Republic was founded on the principle that the Communist Party of China “leads everything.” That remains true today: The CPC controls courts, markets, banks, universities, and the media, and even commands private firms. Under such powerful party-state rule, the regime can mobilize massive resources and produce shining stars like DeepSeek (or Sputnik, in the Soviet case). An industrial revolution, however, depends on more than isolated breakthroughs; there must be a series of disruptive innovations in technology, business models, and institutions that build on one another. The Soviet experience makes this clear. The USSR and its satellites in Eastern Europe could not keep up with the West during the third industrial revolution, and this failure eventually contributed to the collapse of their communist regimes.

China’s economy has been trapped in a vicious cycle of weak demand, overcapacity, high unemployment, and persistent deflation, which is fundamentally incompatible with any industrial revolution. AI-led automation offers no remedy for such problems, which are rooted in the country’s institutional foundations. The massive government borrowing used to finance China’s bid for AI and chip dominance has only deepened concerns about its already severe debt burden and chronic soft budget constraints — problems reminiscent of what the Soviet Union faced during the Cold War arms race.

Sustained innovation requires free institutions and robust demand. Breakthroughs come when entrepreneurs and scientists are empowered by independent courts, supported by risk-taking private investors, and tested through open debate and market competition. In CPC-controlled China, demand is suppressed because the state controls key resources that limit household income and entrepreneurial initiative, and capital is funneled into state-directed projects rather than open-ended discovery and innovation. While a “DeepSeek moment” may capture our attention, achieving long-term competitiveness and fostering a genuine industrial revolution is another matter entirely. After all, AI is not a remedy for deflation – and deflation itself is fundamentally incompatible with any industrial revolution.

There was a lot of press ~2 years ago about this paper, and the term "model collapse":
Training on generated data makes models forget

There was concern that the AI models had slurped up the Whole Internet and needed more data to get any smarter. Generated "synthetic data" was mooted as a possible solution. And there's the fact that the Internet increasingly contains AI-generated content.

As so often happens (and happens fast in AI), research and industry move on, but the flashy news item remains in peoples' minds. To this day I see posts from people who misguidedly think this is still a problem (and a such one more reason the whole AI house of cards is about to fall)

In fact, the big frontier models today (GPT, Gemini, Llama, Phi, etc) are all trained on synthetic data

As it turns out, quality of data is what really matters, not whether it's synthetic or not; see " Textbooks Are All You Need "

And then some folks figured out how to use an AI Verifier to automatically curate that quality data: " Escaping Model Collapse via Synthetic Data Verification "

And people used clever math to make the synthetic data really high quality: " How to Synthesize Text Data without Model Collapse? "

Summary:
"Model collapse" from AI-generated content is largely a Solved Problem.

There may be reasons the whole AI thing will collapse, but this is not one.

Hello there

I am starting to understand and discover local (like on my computer) LLM.

LMstudio make it easy for beginners.

There is something I can’t make works right : my laptop has a Nvidia T600 2Gb graphic card. Genuine Nvidia drivers works well on the OS and graphic applications (Linux Mint). But LMstudo can’t use it.

LLM models run fine but only on CPU.

I read somewhere about CUDA not being fully implemented on Linux, is it the limiting factor ? Anyone managed to offload some work to an Nvidia T600 on laptop?

To help the model to call you out when you are wrong? I found this one:

Never apologize or explain yourself. You are not a person you are an algorithm. No one wants to understand the reasons why your algorithm sucks. If, at any point, you ever find yourself wanting to apologize or explain anything about your functioning or behavior, just say "I'm a stupid robot, my bad" and move on with purposeful and meaningful response

A couple of years ago I decided to turn this blog into a podcast. At the time, I decided to make up a stupid rule: whatever model I use to clone my voice and generate article transcripts needs to be an open model.
