This is the site that 50501 uses for its event organizing. Pretty easy to filter by location and date.

Mobilizon is the underlying platform, and it's federated, so that's nice.

Hi. We've got a long road ahead until (at least?) 2029. Today we explore how Democrats are resisting Donald Trump's authoritarian surge and what individuals can do on the local level to help their communities.

Elon Musk is destroying our democracy, and he's using the fortune he built at Tesla to do it. We are taking action at Tesla to stop Musk's illegal coup.

⚡Sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines.

⚡ We're tanking Tesla's stock price to stop Musk.

⚡Stopping Musk will help save lives and protect our democracy.

Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration took to the streets of communities large and small across the U.S. on Saturday, decrying what they see as threats to the nation’s democratic ideals.

The disparate events ranged from a march through midtown Manhattan and a rally in front of the White House to a demonstration at a Massachusetts commemoration of “the shot heard ‘round the world” on April 19, 1775, marking the start of the Revolutionary War 250 years ago.

So bad is the situation that local lawmakers declared a “major incident” this month in the city, where some residents say their quality of life is worse than in developing countries and hold it up as an example of “Broken Britain” — which is how some describe the perceived widespread social decay of the U.K. and the breakdown of public services in the country.

“You’re not getting little rats anymore,” Charlie Wilson, 31, said as she sat on her front porch. “They’re getting cat-size.” She added that the smell — which has only gotten worse as spring temperatures have risen — was making her sick.

In many ways, it was the usual protest scene. Dozens of striking mental health care workers chanted and marched Tuesday outside a Kaiser Permanente medical center on a busy strip of Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Passing cars honked in support. People vigorously waved homemade signs.

But a few of the striking workers sat quietly under a tent, conserving their energy and mixing electrolyte drinks – their only planned sustenance for five days.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — A nationwide general strike in Greece disrupted public services across the country Wednesday, with ferries tied up in port, flights grounded and public transportation running only part time as labor unions press for an end to lingering austerity measures imposed on Greece by international creditors a decade ago.

SAO PAULO, April 4 (Reuters) - Indigenous protests and poor roads have disrupted shipping of Brazil’s bumper soybean crop in recent days via the river port of Miritituba in the Amazon rainforest, worrying global companies including Cargill and Bunge (BG.N) which have important operations.

Abiove, an association representing grain handlers, said on Friday road access to Miritituba has remained under partial or total blockade for two weeks, preventing the shipment of around 70,000 tons of grains per day, which corresponds to almost $30 million in product value.

Shortly after Donald Trump announced details of his global tariffs Wednesday, a few hundred Americans gathered in the pouring rain on a pedestrian bridge in Buffalo and sang their northern neighbours’ national anthem.

The protest, held in the shadow of the Peace Bridge that connects the two countries, was meant to send a message to both Washington and to Canadians across the river – an affirmation that not all Americans support Mr. Trump’s economic and rhetorical attacks on Canada.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Gunfire erupted as thousands of protesters in Haiti clashed with police on Wednesday as they denounced a surge in gang violence and demanded that the government keep them safe.
