Genuine question: what are the positives, in your view?

American born and raised here. Since I started swimming at the local gym I now get naked in the locker room pretty regularly. It still has novelty in that I always think about if I should put on a towel to wak to/from my locker to the shower, how my body looks (which is funny because I know virtually no one cares), and whether anyone is silently judging me for being naked too much. And if there is a kid I get even more in my head. But I am happy to be doing it because I want to have a more neutral connection to my and others' bodies.
CATastropic preesses are prevented? Sounds PURRfect.
How did they get this passed? What sort of organizing led up to the 2023 elimination of bus fares?
Also, parking is $2??
Sure! And I agree piano is a different beast!
Thank you 🥹
Yeah, the commitment can be tough! I will say that muscle memory is a big part of learning any instrument, so if you naturally rely on it, I don't think that's bad. I am not a teacher, but I got really good at guitar and saxophone when I was younger; so I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts on reading, muscle memory, etc.
If you keep playing and build up your memorization skills, that is a very good thing IMO. Reading is important too, but maybe you don't have to get really good at everything all at once?
Also, remember to have fun! 😊
On a general note, I as a fellow ADHD-haver, I have found that a consistent mindfulness pracrice has been a game changer for my focus. Have you tried mindfulness meditation or had a mindfulness practice? Playing music and reading music are both very mindful activities, so building your "mindfulness muscle" could be a good way to help you stay in the moment and not get lost!
My friend lives in Gaza City. Her dad waa killed during the first few days of the "ceasefire." Her little brother is ten and he doesnt speak anymore. He is the sweetest little boy.
We were in almost-daily communication but she and her family had to move to a new apartment in an area that suffered a lot more damage so there is no internet. Her house and her mom's chicken farm was destroyed and no one can work (my friend is a lawyer) or go to school (she has two brothers in college, two in high school, and one in elementary).
She told me there are still a lot of attacks and there is no real ceasefire. Gaza isn't really in the news here in America anymore, which is discouraging to me.
My friend's people are being exterminated and their homeland (they have no nation) has been obliterated.
Israel is a fascist ethnostate. It's surreal. To be clear, I am not citicizing Jews writ large or Israelis for BEING Jewish. This is about their actions and their own statements.
I know it's nothing compared to what the Palestinians are actually going through, but it's been hard to deal with. I don't know anyone else with friends there so it isn't very helpful to talk to people I know about it. They all just get uncomfortable; I don't blame them but it's just not comforting.
Yeah that's wild 😆
"All of us vital businesspeople are gonna leave and then you'll be sorry!" just sounds better than "Those of us who make more than two million dollars don't want a two-percent income tax increase!" It was obvious hyperbole but it does make me chuckle now 😄
How is it going lately? I am in the same boat RE relying on muscle memory. I want to get a teacher - do you have one? I wonder what a piano teacher would say...
Could this be a good thing, if you opt-in (aren't required to do whatever verification your phone wants)? I would absutely never give my id to any porn site so if there were a secure way for my phone to say "yep, they are over the required age" then that could be an acceptable solution. If the phone doesn't store your ID photo, that would be very good.
