I recall that the movie attempts to fill this plot hole by saying that the aliens were leaving the planet but that the injured, sick, or otherwise weakened aliens were left behind. I think the one holding the boy in the final confrontation was perhaps the same one that lost a digit when the protagonist was using a knife to see it's reflection through the door gap when it was locked in a pantry.

I also recall the man in the car who was leaving that home with the pantry saying "btw we locked one of those things in the pantry, I think something was wrong with it. k bye"

I don't know how much of this I made up.

Yeah I was being sarcastic to highlight how stupid that guy's comment was.

All these idiots freaking out over this fact about the United States don't realize it's also counting people bringing their guns to the schools on Saturday afternoons to shoot into soccer field.

Only me and you are the smart ones.

It just put on its hide boots and walked away?

I don't think you understand the theory at all considering that the central concept of defining any system as chaotic is that the tiniest imperceptible change of initial conditions leads to an unpredictable product.

If you think the strength of the butterfly wing is insufficient for this theory to map to reality then you have missed the point entirely of why a butterfly was chosen as the example to describe this theory.

This is a setup for someone to ponder if the word "nonautological" is an autological word or not.

It is a one word encapsulation of the same paradox created by the phrase "this sentence is false."

Make Justin Long stand in the Mac Mansion while John Hodgeman stands outside the Public Community housing.

Weird to see your name here. I randomly bookmarked your user page for reddit multiple years ago because I really liked your opinion on some book or something so I recognise your name from my bookmarks toolbar. I never googled the name to learn that it's a poem until now. Looks like you're the same guy though which is uncanny. I remember being pleased that so many of your interests overlapped with mine and that you were commenting educated things about those interests.

I can't find the original reason I bookmarked your page which is driving me crazy but it's already crazy to recognize a name across platforms. We both have 15 year old reddit accounts, assuming you're the same guy. Really weird thing to have happen first thing in the morning.

I even had to boot up an old desktop to confirm it was the same username cuz the bookmark was on a non-synced Firefox on that old PC so I know I made the bookmark over two years ago.

Funny that a paper gets to have a wikipedia page where the page lays out the papers arguments when that's just exactly what the paper is for.

That's particular simulator game actually has you saving the world from some sort of Alien UFO time traveler conspiracy plot though doesn't it? It's not quite as mundane as some other simulator games like farming or truck driving sims.

do we know that shoppers haven’t already returned to normal now that it’s out of the current news cycle?

Yeah man, otherwise we wouldn't be participating in this conversation right?

Target was affected by boycotts in a way that other retailers are definitely aware of.
