The mailers, addressed to the “student” of the household, include sections encouraging youth to speak with a “safe adult” or one of several advocacy groups if their parents don’t support their identity. The mailers say parents’ don’t need to be involved with a student’s transgender identity and include a section about emancipation, when a minor becomes legally recognized as an adult.

☝ from another Texas Tribune article linked to from the first.

Did a little digging and found the other side of the mailer in another article from CBS

other side of the mailer

All of the information in there seems to be realistically trying to deal with the fact that a lot of trans kids have abusive parents who would rather see them dead than transition. It all seems very reasonable and appropriate to the situation. The fact that the contents of this mailer are causing death threats and legal action is insane. From the mailer:

you don't need to have everything figured out

you don't have to know whether you're definitely trans

you don't have to decide about hormones or surgery right now

you don't have to convince your parents

your job right now is to stay safe, find people who will listen to you, and give yourself time to figure out who you are.

All of that is extremely healthy and supportive messaging and TBH I don't think it's a false flag set up to make conservatives vote harder. I think it's real and the obfuscation is to protect the identities of the people who sent it.

I support everything said in these pamphlets and I hope some of them got into the hands of some young people who need to see them

Not to mention the mailer is clearly targeted at older teenagers, emancipation only applies to 16- and 17-year-olds anyway.

Yes, the state and capital do endless violence upon the poor and underprivileged and it will take some degree of violence to shift from taking that to defending ourselves from it.

It doesn't matter. The only reason the state has power is that capital grants it, the only reason capital has value is that the state protects it. The state and capital are interdependent and you can't use one to fight the other.

Any mutability or just immutable?

Not really. I halfhearted agree that it's worth taking 5 minutes to go to the polls. I disagree pretty strongly with anyone who makes it their life's work to nag everyone around them in every conversation every two years as though the democrats are running any candidates worth voting for, when they never do.

If all you're doing about this is voting you can shut the fuck up about politics tbh. No one's saying not to vote. I'm saying I'm sick to death of hearing about how hard I should vote from a bunch of people who clearly are otherwise doing fuck all.

Everyone ice stole they did so wrongfully, if they had a "legitimate" (so far as one could possibly suggest the law in such a place as this has ever been legitimate) reason they would call the sherrifs

Lmao they are talking to you like a human you're just so used to talking to slop machines you forgot how to comprehend a metaphor

Do you understand what people mean when they say "that site allows the people who control the website to control your browser, and they use that control to attack other web services"?

Pretty lame article for "anarchist news"

Federal prosecutors said members of what they described as a North Texas Antifa cell launched a coordinated attack on the facility, using fireworks and vandalism to draw law enforcement officers outside while armed participants positioned themselves nearby. An Alvarado police officer responding to the scene was shot in the neck.

All of this is technically true. But that cop was shot by another cop, the "armed participant" shot at the ground, and the fireworks and vandalism were the point, because ICE's victims found the noise demos comforting.
