I was with a narcissistic woman for 10 years who tried to kill me multiple times, stole everything from me including all my friends, my computers, my guitars, kicked me out of my own apartment and I was homeless for a month (and then almkst lost my career for sleeping in my office), told everyone I know that I'm a violent rapist, bunch of other fun stuff that makes me permanently afraid of getting close to women

I'm a man though so you don't give a shit lol. Literally nobody gave a shit except my parents and sister, to this day

OK so you do admit bears are scary. Why are you avoiding them? Lol

I'm actually on board with what you're saying for once.

That said I've been abused by a woman before in arguably worse ways than what you describe and the cool part is that nobody cared or believed me

Maybe all humans are just terrible? That's what I think.

You mean a bunch of connected local movements...running in datacenters?

You're a hiking guide, and you think a random person in the woods is scarier than a bear? I am sorry but I just don't believe you.

What dishonest rhetoric? I might be the only person in this thread who's actually been inside a datacenter lol

An "LLM datacenter" and "internet infrastructure" are the same fuckin thing. Racks of servers that create heat and suck up power.

I work at an AI datacenter and the houses 50 meters away just think it's a generic square building

You don't see any sexism and you think bears don't kill people. Reddit isn't sending their best here are they?

[–] rabber@lemmy.ca -1 points 1 week ago (3 children)

You must be trolling. Otherwise I'm kind of jealous how blissfully unaware you are of how the world works.

This thread has been great at definitively identifying the sexists of lemmy. There sure are a lot of you.

Anyone who partakes in man vs bear debate is a sexist. It's perfectly designed rage bait.

Anyone who thinks men are more dangerous than bears are either sexist or uneducated.

You should have this conversation with a woman who actually spends time in the back country. Someone who has personally had a close call with a bear before.

I've almost been killed by a bear before but you don't care and won't listen to a word I say because I'm a man.

At least here in vancouver, if you go to east hastings almost every single homeless person is either white or indigenous, despite the official data saying something different. I know why indigenous face these issues, but why so many white people? Is it because most of them originated in a rural area and moved here? The homeless demographic looks completely different than the demographic of the city itself.

Hop the border to seattle and it seems like homeless people are usually black or latino, which makes a lot more logical sense to me.

He mostly fixes domestic trucks but gets japanese cars sometimes too. He rarely takes jobs on euro cars.

Can you recommend a "professional" grade code scanner?

I want to buy this for him for xmas so hoping to not break my wallet too much here.

Any thoughts on the scanners on aliexpress etc? Not opposed to chinese stuff, just needs to be simple enough for an older guy to use and be up to date for most common newer vehicles.

He is pretty comfortable with using his android phone - could we get same functionality and save a bunch of money buying something that works with a smartphone instead of a tablet style scanner?

Canada here, btw, if that detail means anything.

After years of blowing past all signage I just tried to actually obey the 20km/h and then the 5km/h up the ramp to the drop off area.

20km/h on that straightaway feels comical and the folks behind me were visibly annoyed. The slowest I was able to drive up the ramp asking me to do 5km/h in first gear without stalling was 8km/h.

I would like to see someone at BC ferries demonstrate this being done and tell me with a straight face that 5km/h is reasonable

That's 3mph for you americans

Not sure the point of this but what car do i need to buy in order to remain complacent? Because my 400hp car cannot drive uphill at 5km/h

Like fresh farm duck eggs. Pepper's used to stock them but haven't seen them there in a bit

My truck is 7.5ft tall but one time I was placed on the upper deck with like maybe 1 inch of space to the ceiling. I told ticket person I'm over height and they said no you're fine on this specific ship

I forgot what ship that was

Ever since, I ask the ticket person which ship that is but nobody knows the answer

I want to specifically use this ship so I can sleep in my truck on the upper deck

Do you know the answer?

$650 seems like a really good deal to me.
