Why not both?

Committing crimes doesn't mean that someone is immoral or doesn't care about someone. Most crimes happen in the heat of the moment, when someone is very emotionally dysregulated.

Getting deeply, irrationally and obsessively upset about things that might seem random and pointless is a very common trait associated with Autism. Crimes can happen when someone is in that state. Doesn't mean that their surroundings didn't fail them, but there also is a factor of personal responsibility.

I wouldn't say that the simplified "Crime because of Autism" is a very nuanced way to see it, but I do believe that some traits of Autism could lead to a higher chance to commit some crimes 🀷 But honestly, most mental illnesses and neurodivergencies are like that.

I find those randomly started projects and the dim activity chart deeply relatable haha

A programmer? Mah man!!

Whenever I catch myself typing too long on a reply or getting frustrated, I ask myself: "Would it be better for me to just send a picture of a pig pooping on his own balls?"

If the answer is yes, I stop typing and either block or move on.

Pretty sure you could get a bit of mummy for that price

Well, if I randomly take the place of an aristocratic child I can play the angle of "overachiever kid only talks in English/German/Russian to show off their skills".
Otherwise, neck rope.

The one time I've personally heard about a claim being denied (at first) was when a person who is in group therapy wanted to do their insurances online solo therapy offer as well. Technically, the law says that doing solo therapy in addition to group therapy is fine, but that specific online program was intended as a catch-all offer for people who can't find a therapy spot at all. But I think the insurance gave in and let them take it anyway after a call or two.

I know insurances are allowed to not cover it if you want wacky treatments like chiropractors and acupuncture. Some treatments, like tooth cleaning, are limited to I think twice a year, after that you have to pay the dentist out of pocket. There are also certain meds that count as "lifestyle drugs", which are not covered by default. I know that Mounjarno (the weight loss version of Ozempic) was one of them. So if your doctor decides to prescribe it, they write it down on a green sheet of paper to signal that it's self-pay only. There was some sort of system to ask the insurance for an exception, but I've never heard of anyone needing to do that.

What I've never heard either is insurances denying MRIs or anything like that. I don't think they're allowed to do that here?? I've only ever had one MRI and a few X-Rays taken, but when I did I wasn't even thinking about the insurance because whenever something isn't covered by insurance doctors will usually wait a second and ask whether you're sure that you want to pay yourself. If they don't ask, it's fine.

Apparently I'm a poweruser haha

I mostly use the app for fancy sweet pastries nowadays. They don't really go stale like bread does, and I kinda appreciate that I get a random one and don't have to make a decision on which to get.

Also, pro tip for anyone who comes across this! If you're aiming to snipe a specific bag, don't waste your time by refreshing your list of favourite bags by swiping down to get the little refresh animation. It's deceptive, the list itself is actually cached and does not refresh in real time. Instead, refresh by clicking on the listing for the bag you want and then click your back button to go back and forth. Opening the listing does load the real time state of the bag!

Yeah, that's very valid! I'd like to think that the technology got safer in the past years, but honestly I don't even wanna check and risk having to give up the coziness

I guess, but fire isn't very healthy either I think

I've been messing around with my Pizza Dough recipe for the past 3 days 🐱

The goal was to scale the recipe to two portions (βˆ…25cm) that taste best after around 16-24h resting time. I like my dough fairly thin, but more chewy than crispy. I also go heavy on the toppings, so it should have enough structure to hold them up by itself after the first two bites or so. Most Pizzas here are topped with 250-ish grams of chicken, pickles, pickled red onion, bbq sauce and whatever canned corn-mix I had on hand.

image: Pizza

The first Pizza had way too much dough, and I had it in an initially cold pan on a pizza stone. It stayed very soggy in the middle πŸ˜• I also only put oil in the pan, no flour. So it got super stuck.

image: Pizza 2

The second one was light years ahead, way thinner dough and I blasted the pan on my induction stove until it sizzled before putting it in the oven without a pizza stone. The bottom turned out exactly how I like it!!

It still got a little stuck in the pan, as I used oil and too little semolina flour.

image: Pizza 3

Pizza 3 was the best one! I went very heavy when coating the pan in regular flour (instead of semolina, i dont like the texture) and pulled up the crust on all sides so that it wouldn't stick so much. It didn't, and I kinda like the look! This one I also blasted on the stove beforehand and put in the oven with no Pizza stone.

The (current) dough recipe:

  • 150g Pizza flour
  • 150g water
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp dry yeast
  • 6g salt
  • 3 tsp vital wheat gluten (sold as Seitan base)

-> mix everything to a very watery crepe-dough consistency and let sit for 20-30 mins

-> add 100g more flour and knead to a Pizza dough

-> let rest for at least 12h, but 16-24h is even better

-> bake it as hot as your oven will allow, mine has a Pizza setting that does 250Β°C

I'll probably tweak it even more when I get into the mood for half a week of Pizza again 🐱 I'm thinking that I should be able to get the exact same result from using regular 403 flour but with 4 instead of 3 tsp of the vital wheat gluten. But I might have to scale up the water as well in that case, hmm

They're this weird yellowish-blue and I think that's pretty neat

Revy's going into blue 🐱

She's really needing it too, her last shed was at around 240g bodyweight, now she's well above 330g and was starting to get some pretty visible scale spread.

wrinkly baby

Revy decided to dig on exactly the right spot, pulled on the cord to her temperature sensor and displaced it tonight. Now her terrarium is sitting at an uncomfortable 31.5Β°C ambient temperature on the hot side. The cold side is still okay at like 28Β°C, but it's slowly creeping up.

Wouldn't be a problem, if I wasn't 650km away on vacation. Or if I hadn't specifically decided against leaving a key to my apartment with a friend or neighbor because I didn't want to bother them. Completely my fault lol

Anyways, the flight back home is 100€ and the 10 hour bus drive back to my vacation spot is 50€. I wouldn't have bothered to go back, but this was literally the first night of the trip and I have 5 more days planned. I was visiting my fiance who I haven't seen in 2 months because he had to move across the country for work πŸ₯²

update: the baby has been rescued! She seems perfectly fine and unbothered, although a bit warm to the touch.

update2: Man, she sure is out to worry me. I took her out to cool down while I adjust and recalibrate the sensor. When I let her back in, she crawled straight to her basking spot (32-35Β°C surface day temp, 28Β°C surface night temp) and stayed there until like 3am. Wth does that even mean??

It's so scary to see as well, because they look like some sort of neurological issue or seizure 😭

But apparently it's 100% normal and nothing to worry about. Those care guides just never tell you about it!!

Idk how to feel about this. She's done it before to get a rat that was too big for the door into her house. But it's literally 4pm! Girl you should be sleeping!!

Revy's back wall plants are magnetized so that she can't climb up and mess with her Radiant Heat Panel or the UVB bulb. It took her about a month to get used to that. In the beginning, I'd always wake up to every single plant being torn off.

But by now, she's got it down to a science. She never pulls at the ends of the plant and knows exactly that the base right next to the wall is the most stable part. Sometimes I catch her resting her head on top of the base, cause she knows that it won't fall off with that little weight on it. Smart baby πŸ’ž

Revy was in there actively exploring for like two hours. The idea was that she'd go back into her humidity box once she's had enough/wanted to hide in a familiar place, but that never happened. So I picked her up and put her on her "you can go back home" perch in front of her enclosure. She refused and started exploring in the opposite direction lol

So she got to go back to the Play Tent and after cruising around for a few more rounds, she finally settled into a paper towel tube. I would have left her to hang out for as long as she wanted, but had other obligations to attend to and didn't want to leave her unsupervised. So she had to go back cannelloni style πŸ₯²
