Not at all my bro. To be fair I came with a curiosity around the sign up process. Wasn't too comfortable on the having to give my email to sign up. I was of the impression both it and this were fairly similar but it definitely threw me a bit needing to give an email. Just got into a conversation then around it as ive been exploring alternatives since getting the boot from Reddit.

I'm not American brother. Couldn't give a fuck about MAGA. I think they're retards. I also think a lot of libs are retards. Why does it have to be mutually exclusive?lol

My pleasure!

Nah i'm with you on that one 100% as well. As someone that's been in the crypto space for years now. (More than I would like to admit). Crypto Twitter for example is a cesspit. I find myself enjoying Mirage more so now due to the fact it's not too dominated with Crypto content. Far from it at this stage. Plus there's no algo, it's all opt in/opt out self moderation, which suits me also.

But I hear you on the crypto culture 100%.

Interesting. My fault for not checking to be sure. Assumed from what I read I didn't need to give it.

Have been trying Mirage also and it asked for nothing when signing up which to me is great. Always try to be privacy focussed with these things is all.

It's built on a blockchain but that's as far as the crypto element goes. no token or anything like that. No base knowledge of crypto needed. The blockchain allows you to remain anon when signing up.

Precise numbers I have no idea my bro but it has been growing a lot over the last few weeks for as long as I've been on there. mirage.talk if you want to have a look!

Makes sense man. Still finding my way around on here. Looking for a new home post Reddit ban. Mirage and here both looking great so far.

Was just confused af when I saw someone else posting that they didn't have to give theirs.

Mirage gave me a seed phrase and that was it, which I liked. Privacy first ideally is always my approach.

Appreciate the reply my bro

All good. Was a little worried when they asked for my email to sign up. Seen someone else saying they werent asked but I was. On Mirage for example I wasn't asked for anything so it threw me a little but. new here so still a bit clueless

It's relatively new but definitely growing a lot over the last few weeks bud! I've been finding myself enjoying it and checking it as much as I would my twitter during the day! Worth checking out 100%.

Yo everyone, what's good? Lemmy virgin here, just got signed up after being banned on Reddit for my opinions and takes on Israel (lol) hoping here isn't the same.

Question though if anyone can help me. I'd been testing out and using Mirage before this and what I really liked over there was the fact I had to give no personal info when signing up. It seems to be more privacy focused. I had to give my personal email to sign up here on Lemmy. But then I seen someone commenting on a topic on privacy that they didn't? Have I done something wrong?

I much prefer operating on these forums without giving any info about myself, like on Mirage for example. Can anyone advise?
