My favorite is people who use “archival purposes” as an argument for having a dump of some shit like SMB + Duck Hunt cart for NES. That shit isn’t going anywhere man, you just want to play it for free and that’s ok.

Solid advice but it’s not really applicable to me in all honesty. My headphone listening station consists of an SL-1200mk3, a schiit jotunheim with internal phono card, and XLR balanced out Sennheiser HD800S. I also have a splitter hooked up to a sub if I really want to feel the bass on music that relies on it.
I don’t listen to music with other people generally, and if I do it’s not in a critical listening sense so my PC speakers or the downstairs thrift store technics floor speakers are good enough. I also don’t ever want to upgrade, and given my tastes that means I need to set aside a significant amount of money at the start.
I will always advocate for high-end headphones over speakers myself. Speakers that work and don’t sound absolutely horrible are good enough in my book.
I will say the thrift shop idea is smart. We got our floor speakers and receiver that way and I have no complaints. I’ll spend big bucks on speakers when I hit the lottery I never play.
Yes, I am a card carrying member of the IWW.
I work at an Amazon warehouse. This is the second SEV-1 event this week. Monday we were on stand down for 4 hours. I don’t want to post ticket details but I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a lot more in the coming months. For the record the Monday outage originated in a US-East instance. I’m not at work today but our building is on full stand down again.
Adore this album, and MTU.
That’s awesome! Were you guys doing a similar thing musically? I’m incredibly envious of musicians who play instruments. The most I can do is fart around in a daw or chop up old stuff in audacity
This one’s either the 1990 or 2014(?) repress or whatever you’d call this comp. I snagged this at a local shop for $20 a couple years ago. They had volume 2 for the same price but I’ve never really been a fan of the second half of pop classics.
It’s good stuff. This is their first EP plus a few outtakes, and it’s deter best. Volume 2 is okay, and volume 3 is straight ass. This and volume 2 make up a collection called “A Collection of Pop Classics.” A very convoluted discography that really only amounts to an hour of music.
Thanks for the compliment. One of these days if/when my partner and I get a house I’ll make some dumb decisions regarding speakers. Until then I couldn’t say a bad thing about what I’ve got.

Different chart. iTunes and AM top 100 are different. The iTunes Charts are for song sales past day and the barrier for top 100 or even 10 is incredibly low since everyone streams or buys physical now rather than individual songs on iTunes.
