I thought metal was more popular than ever. Maybe my perception is skewed because I've been going to plenty of metal festivals in recent years, but all the subgenres have representation from what I can see.

I'm inspired. Designing a Mariah Scary costume for next year.

Yeah, it was one of the quicker expeditions. Mostly straightforward, but the black hole was a nice surprise.

That at least serves a purpose. Or we could use the Shavian characters and slowly transition to a phonetic writing system.

I'm about 1/3 in, and every system has been abandoned.

I stopped farming nanites because there wasn't much need. I don't need to bring in my old ship because progression is focused on corvettes and you get enough parts from awards. My multitool has already got plenty of upgrades too.

So far it seems like an easy expedition.

All the Sleep Token fans I know are pretty old, but that might just be because all the younger music fans I know are more in the rave scene.

Since OP made a comparison to Ghost, I did notice at the last show of theirs I attended, the crowd was very diverse. I saw kids and seniors alike.

Maybe part of the popularity of these bands is that they operate outside the traditional boundaries, so they're more likely to have cross-generational appeal. That helps boost popularity overall. We're in an era now where music is less defined by generations than in the past. As a kid I was mostly exposed to what my peers were listening to, but now I can access everything. It's getting much harder to pigeon-hole fandoms.

I've seen stingrays absolutely gorge themselves during a big crab moult. I think I'd rather be a ray.

That soy filler is the bane of my existence. I'm intolerant to legumes, and I'm pretty sure soy additives are the reason almost all manufactured foods affect me. In theory, I should be able to eat bread, but it's very rare to find any that doesn't include soy.

I'm pretty sure all my "gluten free" family are actually reacting to the soy too.

You know your stuff for someone who hasn't partaken.

I've done ayahuasca but not regular old DMT. Those are the main points I would have suggested.

Adding to that, allow plenty of time to process the experience after the trip has ended. I journaled it, which helped make sense of it all, especially parts that felt disconnected from normal perceptions.

Music you vibe with will help too. Some of the music that accompanied my experience was a bit overwhelming and magnified parts that I didn't enjoy. I had to take myself outside to ground again (if you can call communing with the stars grounding).

That was quite an episode. Something is very wrong with that man.

Is this what black hole spaghettification looks like?

I know in Melbourne at least, trams collide with cars pretty frequently. For some reason people think it's a good idea to u-turn when they're approaching. The trams rarely seem to be damaged. It's not fun for passengers though.

Maybe the next World Tram Championships should add an event: the Car Toss. That would help people visualise the consequences of leaving vehicles too close to tracks.
