My understanding was they had heard TNG referred to as what saved the franchise but didn’t agree with that sentiment. They were trying to argue (with no citation, just pure anger) that the TOS cast saved themselves.

At some point the conversation shifted towards complaints about modern conventions (I should have said I overheard this at STLV). They complained about the modern pricing and seating arrangements we have today. That lead them to mention the year the convention hall named the vendor’s room after Roddenberry. This seemed to upset the person even more and say that it was a disgrace that anyone let the TNG cast attend the convention that following year. Possibly I missed some context that explained why they felt so adamantly negative about TNG. All I could say was that the opinion being given seemed to ignore the fact that Roddenberry created that series. If it was anything else, I would understand. This I was having trouble understanding.

EDIT: The cherry on top was this person was wearing a Kirk heartthrob shirt.

EDIT 2: I understand there are people who only care about TOS and have no interest in the rest of the franchise. I’ve met those people. I respect that. But this person seems very upset with the fact that the franchise exist beyond TOS.

I encountered a person who said after Roddenberry died, the entire TNG cast should have been banned from attending STLV.

EDIT: I should clarify that the topic of discussion I overheard was unclear to me. One complaint is that TNG saved the franchise, when according to the aggrieved, it was always TOS.

I’ve met people who are offended by the notion that anything exist after STVI.

Has he been tested for schizophrenia? I am legitimately curious because he has written books about these people.

I’m starting to think the GOP got Quantum Leaped by the party from the 80s. Not going be surprised if we start seeing persecution of the color red.

My limited understanding say this is actual true.

This definition is straight from the FBI website.

Just come out and say it you fucking cowards: you are simply racist and have hatred towards Palestinians.

I will dislike you more, but at least you are honest in this regard.

Didn’t we leave over a year ago? JFC are people slow.

I feel like this could have been a Key and Peele sketch.

But you agreed to be in a television show about seniors that make ergonomic sex toys for seniors?

We know Q was obsessed with Picard, but Janeway was propositioned for having Q’s kid. Who had it worse?

EDIT: I’d been 11 hours since I posted this. Scott Frakes isn’t a real person. Jonathan doesn’t have a twin brother. His middle name is Scott. This is a long running joke from Mission Log podcast. Whenever Thomas Riker was in an episode or they mentioned him, they would pretend he was played by a person named Scott Frakes, the imaginary twin brother of Jonathan Frakes.

Image zooming issue (startrek.website)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by hopesdead@startrek.website to c/voyagerapp@lemmy.world

Hello. I’ve encountered an issue relating to zooming with images at random a few times within the last month. When attempting to zoom, at random the tap field will continue to zoom (even the pinch and pull gesture affects this) until the image has reached a maximum zoom. At this point the image will resize itself to the normal size or do nothing. Whenever this occurs, no other controls work. Only way to stop the behavior is force quoting the app.

EDIT: iPhone 13
