Yeah! It's beautiful here. In the daytime the sky is mint green and it's really pretty.

There are "storms", but they just make the bubbles whip around really fast. Doesn't trigger hazard protection. You do have to watch out for the localized gravity storms though!

They apparently did patch one where you could normal punch boost but then keep meleeing, and just keep gaining speed in midair, and straight-up fly! Never got to try it out, it sounds like it was fun. But to be fair that one was just absolutely busted. This one isn't that much faster than the normal punch boost and it's way harder to control (unlike the flying glitch I assume).

Oh dangit, the video didn't upload!

Edit: Fixed, apparently 38 seconds was too long for some reason.

And it's apparently fun as heck! Liiittle hard to control though. I keep smashing into hillsides giggling uncontrollably.

I picked it up from https://nmsspot.com/2023/03/21/speed-tip-the-melee-reload-jump-trick/. Apparently you can

  • take a projectile gun (e.g. boltcaster) and fire a shot so it's not full
  • hit melee, hold it down
  • while holding down melee, tap reload really fast
  • instead of reloading you'll do the melee elbow animation over and over, going really fast
  • optionally take off with jetpack, or just keep giggling until you smack into something

Seriously this is like something straight outta Warframe.

I think the fact that you can't really control your direction very well just adds to its hilarity. And makes it less likely to get patched.

Wow, and you even went straight to "oh you're weaponizing your disability" and "identity disorder". Classic reddit tactics I see.

Dude, you're in an environment with gangs of furries (raises paw), packs of therians (also raises paw), plenty of plural critters, and all sorts of other assorted varieties of queer people. Bold of you to assume that someone being the way they are – heck, their existence in the first place – is a "rare identity disorder" (speaking of, "identity disorder"? hello?? someone's identity is by definition never a disorder) is "just putting it on for attention" or whatever. Which one of us has got shitty coping strategies here?

Who, me?

Yeah, there's a reason for that: I share a body with several other critters, and it's important to make it clear who's talking!

If we leave off a signature, it's either because whoever was talking forgot, it seemed to be clear from context, or we're worried about getting random flak for it. Like you're doing right now.

And here I thought lemmy would be better than reddit about random antiplural harassment. Username checks out, I guess.

Video went poof because of the recent server issues, I reuploaded it just now.

We actually use a 90s clock radio that has a "radio alarm" feature! So we get whatever the radio station we last used is playing. It's nice.

I dunno, personally I þink it's just fun to use. :3

Wow. Over here where we live (in the US), we can just use a web browser on our desktop. We don't use any "digital cash" stuff, though, just our physical bank card (tap-to-pay with a physical card takes care of hygiene and speed).

Honestly, the problem with ads isn't just about annoyance.

It's also philosophical. It's about respecting your players. It's about not being tracked by some rando ad company.

Honestly, I don't think the corvettes being "better" is really a problem. Nothing in this game is about being The Best. It's a do-whatever-you-want, chill vibes kind of game.

Also corvettes are great, but regular ships are just so much less awkward. At least the corvette we have is super slow and clunky to turn. Which is great, it feels appropriate for how big it is! It's just not nearly as nimble to zip around in as our little smol sentinel ship.

And then you have the lack of landing pads. Space stations and the Anomaly have you covered, so do freighters, but anything else you have to just kind of hover and beam down.

We don't usually use a transparent terminal, but I didn't want to cover up the 「霜の狼」 on the desktop. :3

I drew the wallpaper myself, of myself!

This is our laptop. Our desktop is pretty similar but can't use a sidebar dock, since it's got screens to the left and right.

We can't set an avatar for ourselves! It gives this error:

{"data":{"msg":"exiftool Failed with signal: 13 (SIGPIPE)","files":null},"state":"success"}

Update: This applies to all images, not just account pictures. Also the community icon on the right is broken, too!

Not sure if this is the place for hardware repair stuff, but can't find a community for that, so... yeah.

Busted screw

It looks like the dremel slot is too wide for a screwdriver to catch on. (And also ow, marred the back panel. Not much we can do about that.)

Might try the rubber band thing? That's another trip to the store, but fortunately rubber bands are pretty cheap...

(the laptop works fine, we just want to upgrade the SSD)
