(I originally posted smth like this on the subreddit a few days back but figured it'd be easier to move it here)
the comment section of ai-chat has some real issues, although I respect the dev doesn't have much time to moderate (I'm assuming ai-chat is operated by the dev directly)
this is kind of an unsolvable problem as it regards all popular comment sections without very active moderation, but it seems very sketchy stuff has been sent there and there seems to be a bit of a predator problem. since ai-chat in particular is fairly popular I think the comments should be made inaccessible; I hope that doesn't get in the way of the feedback function but I'm sure there's a workaround for that
while they're collapsed by default and there is the advice about blocking trolls and etc it doesn't seem to have solved the issue
if you do make the decision to close them I'd suggest some kind of advanced notice for the normal users who chat there but that's optional at the end of the day
thanks for your time in any case
I agree with this post. I previously made a post about this and can attest to the issue on a personal basis as well. it bothers me that the average response seems to be "aha, why don't you just ignore it" which is pointless and solves nothing. this is a case where a comment section controlled by a developer, who can be personally contacted, is plainly being used for exchange of illegal material, and there's not some amazing positive offsetting that fact. I wouldn't necessarily want to moderate such a comment section either, so I don't want to heap all the shame on the developer, but now it should be closed considering the facts
