The statistic I think that bothers me the most is how many Americans have the right to own a gun, vs how many have attempted to turn the orange pedo into an orange pedo with a hole through him. Now that is some dedicated apathy. They can organize enough can storm the capital (admittedly with the pedo's help), but when overthrowing their government becomes actually necessary all they can do is protest, without their precious guns, like, what, 4 times a year? What a joke. If they don't care about Canada, that's fine, I'm used to that, but pedo man is fucking them all over 6 ways from Sunday, yet every day is another news story about how he's still alive and saying stupid shit. They're too busy shooting each other in schools and workplaces to take aim at their oppressors. The thought that a country full of armed citizens "can't" do anything about a lunatic authoritarian president is so laughably stupid to me. Every day that goes by and they haven't ended his reign, whether by violent or by constitutional means, my respect for the Americans keeps declining. I never knew it was possible for it to get this low.

No specific time, just whenever people are able to go, ideally when traffic is highest. I chose Sundays because weekends are typically busier, at least in the touristy areas.

Thanks for the info!

Protest will be this Sunday. September 13, 2026. See sidebar for list of locations. Just plop the coordinates closest to you into your favourite map software. Let's show up with flags, signs, and let them know how angry we are.

The purpose of this protest is for Americans to take pictures of people protesting against their regime as they drive into Canada. That's all I want from this. Ideally, I'd like enough of those pictures to be posted online to make the news, perhaps even the American news. They need to know how angry we are. Because, I don't think they do. They don't truly understand. That being said, I highly recommend covering your face. Smartphones, especially American smartphones, the cameras specifically, are connected to the internet, AI, and presumably will be going back through American customs. Plus the goal I just stated. I think enough is said right there.

Just to be clear I am not asking to block any roadways or harass anyone. Simply to stand together, in the specified spots and put on a display of our displeasure towards the bullying.

If you're local to any of these areas and have any comment about the location or if you think there's a better spot, please don't be shy to let me know. I'm really hoping to collaborate with more locals across the country so we can get this thing off the ground.

And look, I know my attempts to post about this on Lemmy have been off to a rough start. I'm not really an internet forum person, but like, I'm not some scammer either. I'm just trying to do my part in standing up for Canada. If you think I've been too rude, well maybe it's because I'm angry about this stuff, and being called a scammer. Just imagine you really believed in a cause and were accused of trying to scam people because you tried to spread the word but didn't post about it the right way. I'm only one person trying to rally people together to show our collective anger to the Americans who choose to visit us. There's no other organization or entity behind this, just me, so if it seems like I don't know what I'm doing, it's because it is.

I'm not going to post any other link to any other site. If you use EhNow, I made an event there, if you use hey.cafe, I made a post there. I am not asking anyone to sign up for anything or download any app or click any link. Only to coordinate enough to put on a display of pushback towards the US. If you're interested, great! if not, great, have a nice day. Either way, I'm not looking for an argument.

Let's keep up the fight. Elbows up!

Please stop any more of your tears and I'll drown!

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca -3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm the butthurt one, eh?

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca 0 points 3 days ago

I appreciate you explaining it in a clear and coherent way, and not just accusing me of being some suspicious scammer without giving any reason. Thank you.

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca -3 points 3 days ago

Yes linking a social media site you don't have an account on automatically makes it a "false flag"

Must be fun in that paranoid bubble.

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca -3 points 3 days ago

Because this is a grassroots movement that I started myself. The fuck do you people want? If doesn't have "engagement by legitimate sources" whatever the fuck that means, that makes me a "lazy scammer"?

Whatever paranoid bubble you're living in, it's not worth it.

I recently tried posting a link to an anti-annexation protest event I created, however EhNow (similar to twitter), the site I used to create the event, apparently won't let you view it without being a registered user, which I did not realize. Seems I inadvertently did the most offensive and suspicious thing anyone has ever done, ever, by posting such a link. I was wrong to assume people knew what EhNow is, so here's a video about it.

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca -1 points 1 week ago

Ok, then I guess you meant something different when you said "Sign in not required for decent, community-minded social media to just observe."

Exclusive nature? Company it keeps? I genuinely don't know what you're talking about anymore.

Ehnow is a Canadian social media site similar to twitter. Yeah, it makes you sign up to use it, which I already stated before, that I was not aware of, when I posted. People share pictures, their thoughts, links, videos..., you know, social media. It's not for everyone, I don't even really like social media. I just use it to try and create more awareness about the protest, and because it's a Canadian site. But it's surely not "suspicious." What are you so suspicious about? What background checks? Not like I'm posting some virus link. Like, chill out.

I already conceded, I already said I won't post external links to other websites. I made a community right here on Lemmy. You completely ignored that, and chose to continue harping on me for posting an EhNow link. I only recently found out about Lemmy and EhNow from the Unplug America list and signed up for both because they are Canadian. Hey.cafe too. You not knowing about the existence of websites does not automatically mean such websites are suspicious.

I don't understand what argument you're still trying to make here. You already won. Lemmy is the only site I will ever link to going forward. You should be happy now. No more big bad "suspicious" links that you'll have to do background checks and go through the ordeal of creating a free account. God forbid.

[–] ehj@lemmy.ca -1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Look I just created the group. I didn't create the website. I genuinely did not know you couldn't view content without logging in, as I already had an account. I realize your opinion is that EhNow is not decent or community minded but we can differ on opinion there, that's fine. Seems no one on Lemmy is interested in using any other website, whether it's Canadian or not, and that's fine too. I went ahead and created a Lemmy community for this, so next time I post about it there will be no external links to any other website.

Welcome! (lemmy.ca)

It's time to stand up to the bully to the south. We may not be visiting the U.S. as much anymore, but the Americans are still visiting us. If you live near the border, or can travel for a bit, now is your chance to make your voice heard. We are going to stand up to the southern bully and let them know that Canada will NEVER be a part of the US. The next of, unfortunately, probably many NATIONWIDE protests, will be held each Sunday, at, ideally, EVERY point of entry to Canada from the U.S..

More of these protests are going to become the norm, and we will stand on guard for our country, just like we've all been singing about doing since we were kids. Now is the time, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a drill. If we want to continue to enjoy the freedom of being Canadian, we have to fight for it, just like our grandparents, and their parents did. Our kids are depending on us.

The Americans are letting all of this happen, but we cannot become complicit like them. We have to stand up to the aggression of American fascism, threats to our sovereignty, and show the Americans that we are not f-ing around!

Join us this Sunday, at your nearest point of entry! ELBOWS UP CANADA! Just so you know, we are NOT blocking roadways, we are parking LEGALLY, and we are NOT LITTERING! Some of these protest locations are in remote areas, so make sure to pack accordingly for a long day of standing outside, bring provisions, and of course, flags and signs! You might be the only one to show up, and if you are, be proud, and make sure to post pictures here!

CANADA WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS AMERICAN AGGRESSION!
