The documentary this article is talking is an awesome documentary on Women's Flag Football. It's a great profile on the champion Mexico Women's Flag Football team. Did you even read the article?

Have you seen the documentary? It's on Amazon Prime.

I just watched a Mexico vs Italy Women's Flag Football match last night. So it is global.

Also NFL just announced that they are starting up official flag football teams: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-partners-tmrw-sports-new-professional-flag-football-league

PeerTube is pretty underwhelming for now...but since you already have the content, it'd be easy for you to start posting there. The more people who post there, the less underwhelming it will be.

I sat down and read this old W.F. Harvey story expecting some cheap ghost bullshit, but damn, it got under my skin worse than a week-long hangover. It's mean, pointless in the best way, and strangely funny in that ugly way life usually is when it decides to screw you over for no good reason. Not bad for 1919.

If you want to read or download the FREE story directly (public domain):

Imma be honest, I have no idea what the fuck is going on here. It's a stop-motion freakshow called The Grasshopper and the Ant. It's a 1911 film by Ladislas Starevich who would collect real insects, kill them, stick bits of wire and wax in their legs, and jerk them frame by frame so the grasshopper fiddles and drinks and kicks the hardworking ant while the summer burns away.

Then it looks sorta like winter hits and the grasshopper and his drunk stag-beetle buddy start to freeze and starve, the beetle croaks first, and the grasshopper begs at the ant’s door only to get told to go dance some more before the door slams shut and the bug drops dead in the snow.

This glorious 1965 Italian (english-dubbed) sleaze-fest Bloody Pit of Horror feels like the whole damn thing was gift-wrapped in baby oil and bad intentions just for me. A dude struts around in shiny red tights as the Crimson Executioner, flexing his oiled-up muscles and ranting about purity while he ties half-naked models to rusty torture devices that look like they crawled out of a carnival junkyard built for perverts.

Idiots break into his crumbling castle to shoot trashy horror book covers, ignore every warning, and get picked off in the most ridiculous, badly dubbed ways possible while the movie pretends it’s delivering pure Gothic terror. In the end it’s nothing but sexy, brainless B-movie trash.

Sweaty beefcake bullshit wrapped in cobwebs and screams. And goddamn if I didn’t love every pulpy, over-the-top minute of it. :)

Agreed. And like I mentioned earlier, I was a little troubled by how many were ok with it. Luckily I didn't see it used anywhere else, and haven't seen it since the guy left.

Sure, but this was a little more than an automod, because it was based on what you did outside of the community, and banned you based on how many downvotes you got from other people.

So let's say you got 1 upvote for your comment yesterday. Then 2 downvotes today. That unrelated comm, would ban you even if you had never been there,. had never posted in the comm, or even heard of the comm.

It seems that I have left in time to not catch an AI summary about myself. XD

Don't be too excited. That's been done on here at Lemmy too. I think it was called santabot (on slrpnk instance I think), and it would ban/unban you from some guys community purely based on your upvote/downvote ratio even if you had never heard of his community, without any other input. The mod log was filled with "xxxx banned. xxxx unbanned. xxx banned, etc."

It was controversial, and some called him out on it, but others thought he was doing awesome with it. He mentioned that he was almost done working out the kinks in it and would be offering it to other mods to use.

He's no longer around now, but I was surprised the admins let him keep using that bot the entire time he was here.

they even brag about creating accounts specifically for this purpose

Yep! I've seen it happen me, which is why I created a new identity for myself, so I could get away from those guys.
