Coal use isn’t cast as a sign of villainy, as it would be among some circles in the U.S. – it’s simply seen as outdated. This pragmatic framing, Fishman argued, allows policymakers to focus on efficiency and results rather than political battles.

There's truly something for western politicians to learn from this

What exactly does a "long" knock sound like?

Google sieht das anscheinend anders, und löscht umstrittene Rezensionen gerne ohne Gerichtsentscheidungen

Subjectively speaking, after switching to Piefed I feel like "the internet is back".

Engaging conversation, good tools for filtering the front page to your liking, and the audience seems generally speaking more mature. I do expect that to change if the platform grows in size.

They could've included in the title the amount of cybertrucks (2). Smells like clickbait

Imagine having the guts to ask your old slave to return and help you with your run-down plantation

For example, a provincial auto repair shop might have previously fixed three cars a week but officially reported only one; now it repairs just two cars, but payment for both is fully recorded in the statistics. The government can take pride in such signs of progress, but the wealth of the people under these conditions is not growing — it is declining.

When you're working with data like that, all you can really do is speculate. We'll know for sure only after a few decades I guess

This sounds like a pretty good description of the situation.

I would add the seeming lack of true alternatives, as dems have repeatedly dropped the ball in the last few decades.

Pocket used to be on my list, but it was unfortunately shut down. Now Joplin web clipper took its place. I still miss Pocket.

This article was right up my alley. I've been considering buying a cheapo smartwatch. I suppose this one couldn't be used as a mp3 player for jogging though.

It's not a bug, it's a feature

Dailybeast is giving reddit credit for this, but wasn't it discovered first on Lemmy?
