A conservative saying something that sounds reasonable in order to convince the listener that the opposite is true.

Conservative messaging 101 right there.

For some it takes a village.

For some like Charlie it takes an orgy. Of exclusively middle aged dad bods.

Just accept it as a fact and its easier to live life that way

That reminds me of something my old buddy tiny-face Charlie used to say.

He had shitty opinions

I think we should stop saying this.

He was killed for his actions, not his opinions. His audience members are the ones who kill for opinions.

Discussing his personal opinions feels like a bit of a republican both sidesing talking point, honestly. I mean, if one side can kill the other just for having conservative opinions, then certainly they can fight back and kill people just for having blue hair and using the "wrong" bathroom!

It was the same with talk radio hosts decades ago. People would argue whether Limbaugh or Hannity really believe all the BS or if they just do it for ratings.

I only remember caring about that distinction when I was still immersed in the conservatism I was born into.

edit: added many word was not there

The angry and scared conservative mind is always on the lookout for a way to let some hatred loose without it looking bad to the people they care about. That plus the persecution complex is a nasty combination. One they have been intentionally conditioned to have.

I remember hearing old racists in the 90s yearn for the day the race war comes. THEN they were gonna do all the violent stuff they've been talking about doing to all them dirty insert-exactly-the-word-you-think-they-saids.

It's the same thing with everything from gun nut home defense fantasies to "just let them say something to me" warriors acting like somebody is going to hold them back.

Not only is it all hollow bluster and superficial iamverybadass image, but they are pretending to be an even more hateful and violent person than they really are, in order to seem cool. They don't just act like children. They act like the bad kids.

And to be fair, they were probably raised by angry violent conservatives.

This why why every left-of-center politician "condemns" it, even if deep inside, they are secretly celebrating it.

I think the vast majority of them actually do condemn it, but it's the real reason that's bad: The lives of the elites themselves are not supposed to be in play when they get the regular people to kill each other.

I thought "blue no matter who" was a call for the general election because at the federal level the alternative is the republican.

Then to change the direction of the party you have to be involved far ahead of the election in the candidate suction process.

... not that they're necessarily going to listen. The forced two party thing we have going will probably always corrupt the "good" party if there is one.

Hey, don't make light of my stuff.

I have some sick tunes in there too! ^__^

The people who got belligerent and shitty when we pointed out the path they were on? Easy to criticize them? Yeah, it very much is.

A bunch of us have had to live right next door to these people the whole time. Sometimes it's so ridiculous that I think the simulation overseers are experimenting with the opposite of the simulated utopia from The Matrix that failed. Is there a level of absurdity that will get us to reject the simulation en masse?

I'm sure Plex has some great engineers, and Plex's infrastructure is far more hardened and secure and reliable than my Jellyfin server.

But they are a way way more likely target, and Jellyfin still performs far better and doesn't try to sell shit to my family members.

So basically the fediverse?

I mean at some point even websites seem grey net when the mainstream internet is basically AOL Future.

I think if there's going to be an Eternal August version of the internet, it will be hidden in plain sight created by some of the same people that want to use it.

I started reading your comment here and formulating a reply in my head about how I was just limiting the scope of my comment and not lying and telling people to cast off responsibility and let Jesus take the wheel, etc.

But then your third paragraph is SO on point that I withdraw any resistance to your message.
