It demonstrably is not. The average over a lifetime was 1.7M in 2023.

Too hot for me is Taiwan in the summer--I would have to rest after walking up a flight of stairs and found it very difficult to do anything outside of air-conditioned malls or going up into the mountains (which are unmissable to me for any traveler.) I like the heat in Hawai'i in Jan-March. I just haven't been everywhere so I don't know how to compare. Basically anywhere you can throw yourself in the water whenever you overheat. I really like the Balkans suggestion
Omg every suggestion is so different! SK to Thailand for me solo would be great. Only thing is I think if I go to Thailand I'd want to do one of those women-only guided trips where they take you to pickleball and snorkeling and the night market, and idk if one week would be enough to join one of those. I'm really good at traveling on my own though so maybe I don't need it.
I'm probably not gonna get the plastic surgery but taking this heavily into account. I love Thai people and want to go so bad I just figure I can go in cooler weather.
It's more about what she wants for that first week than me tho and she might be more comfortable in Asia than a different region so I'll have to find out but this is super helpful
I'll do my part!
I feel like a jerk for not considering the less mentioned European countries. I hate crowds so this sounds perfect. I just want to vibe and see cool shit and get in the water and it might be perfect.
I'd love to hear your specific recs!
I've seen videos of Croatian tourist activities like swimming holes and ziplines and I think that may be the one. And plenty of beautiful city to cover week one. Was thinking about spending one night in Zagreb-->Split-->Dubrovnik, send the madre on her way, and then just wing it by myself once I've gotten the lay of the land.
If you have more specific recs I'm all ears
Genuinely laughed out loud
I want to so bad! Are you from there
I do like transit hubs but yeah. I think if we do Costa Rica we'll pick just one city because she's older and I don't want to drive much, and due to the length of her leg of the trip renting a car will be a pain. I certainly don't want her to drive lol.
I was thinking 3 days nice resort, 3 days sleeping rough-ish, so then she has time for the flights and then the rest will be just me and I can do anything by myself
Which aren't environmentally devastating?
That's super helpful bc I noticed that not a lot of people are on this one. Will cross-post <3
Ha he's so funny and talented, love it ty
