You can integrate a Mempalace option into your generator. It solved my memory problems. https://perchance.org/tales-to-be-told I vibecoded mempalace in with Gemini and used the Perchance AI Helper. Whether a generator is coded or vibecoded Perchance memory in general does not work well, but Mempalace with an Ngrok tunnel allows me to record info from every turn. Here is my bridge.py if you take that route https://files.catbox.moe/w9t9q6.py Basically Mempalace stores info on your local machine, memories and lore, it is better than solely relying on the LLM.

Memory on Perchance leaves a lot to be desired. Whether a generator is coded or vibecoded does not fix the problem. I always vibecode mempalace into my generators like this one https://perchance.org/tales-to-be-told Mempalace makes a record of what happens on each turn that I take. I did trial and error testing but it was vibecoded every time it was adjusted. Mempalace integration is the best option to have consistent memory and that can be coded or vibecoded into any Perchance generator. My bridge.py is specialized for that generator https://files.catbox.moe/w9t9q6.py Mempalace is not only good for memory but also serves up lore better than lorebooks.

When I suggested to another Gen creator that they add Mempalace integration, they said not many people would use it. Which is weird because it solves most of the complaints users consistently have about memory by storing info on one's own device. Many users whether they code or vibecode are not taking advantage of Mempalace as an option and are still lamenting the bad memory of LLMs to this day. Mempalace is not perfect but it is a massive help. Ngrok accounts can be freely made to establish a tunnel.

Why am I recommending it? Because I am recommending this person that I was replying to alternatives where he will get more interaction from a variety of users. The most activity here on the Lemmy is basically downvoting, sure there are a few regulars like me, you, UN blue helmet guy, Rudbo, and a few others who occasionally visit but not many folks. The Dev himself created the subreddit and the discord, so, although his announcements are only given here on the Lemmy even he occasionally uses the Reddit and the discord, his subreddit account is Quantum Woomaster or something. So, I don't see why I can't just use all of them?

People say a lot of things... But I had a friend Petra is her online name who was very helpful in the Perchance Discord and the subreddit, she mostly does Silly Tavern stuff now and is not as active with Perchance as she used to be, she was not a kid and many of the people I saw there had maturity. So, I like it personally.

Yeah, I agree that the whole idea that some users have about keeping Perchance secret is pure nonsense, because without a steady flow of users the websites and ad money will dry up. That said Perchance seems to be increasing in popularity rather than losing it, so whatever dumb plan some of them have is not working.

I think the reason most of the users have not migrated here is due to accessibility, a lot of people already have their reddit accounts set up and ready, just casually moving through subreddits.

That's true, but it's worse here in my opinion due to the general lack of interactions and traffic here, if someone doesn't like my post I at least want to know why. Here it seems a person can get a - rating below zero and no one is even telling the OP why. It's weird. I also think the Discord is fairly better as well.

This is why I usually stick to the Perchance subreddit these days. I'm sure that post would get a lot of upvotes on the subreddit and more interaction.

You called me a "low IQ baiter" for sharing an observation about the forum ratings that you don't like. I think it's bullying, personally.

Rule 2 of the forum Be kind and friendly. Please be kind to others on this community (and also in general)

I think he's here most of the time honestly.

I am not your bro, mate, dude or friend. To clarify. Your bullying will not stop me from expressing myself freely. I think this topic and others deserve more upvotes. Simple.

Who said anything about "Letting an AI dictate your entire life"? Which one of us even said that? We're just talking about using AI for Perchance which is full of AI. We are not instructing you or lecturing you on how you should live your own life.

VioneT20's Question This is one of the best generators for lore and world building, I decided to make a version with different code that works well under the recent changes that caused it to malfunction in that it would not follow instructions in regard to word count and answer count, thus far my results have been good. I am still testing this, tell me if anything about it is broken. https://perchance.org/questionthisrevamped

For most of my time using Perchance I have mostly used the text generators and thus far I have been able to use them effectively for the most part even when we had the older model, when I gave them instructions they would at the very least attempt to follow it through. One of my favorite ones is Question This by Vionet. It's quite simple, I put information into the text box and it will generate questions and answers and I can set how many questions, answers, and the general word count that I want. Thus far it has always worked, until the recent changes. There has been no official statement about the recent performance of the text generation on the Lemmy site, Reddit, Perchance or otherwise.

So, in that regard I won't make any assumptions. But I will share my new experiences here, hopefully it can help with further development of the site.

I choose the word count, but now I rarely get 16 answers, the max word count is now often ignored, the new length is often brief, the answers which used to be very expansive are not that way anymore, if this is happening to this text generator which has a history of being very good, then I imagine others that ask specific instructions from the user are also affected as well. Question This has worked for me correctly during my entire time of using Perchance even when the website was going through updates the only problems I had was long load times or the website outages, but this recent behavior is rather bad in terms of functionality.

Though interestingly AI Hierarchical World Generator seems to have mixed performance, though I have not used that extensively since the recent changes, so, I can't really determine if that performance has gotten worse.
