An apparent example of accidental lifecasting, the hole was described by The New York Times as "Chicago's Stonehenge".[2] Some neighbors and wildlife experts speculated that the impression was made by a squirrel rather than a rat, which was confirmed by a 2025 research paper.[3]

Fascinating!

The only thing I (unwillingly) skipped was the potato chips. It’s hard to tell from the picture but my small salty pretzel πŸ₯¨ is there, LOL.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received a box of these cookies from Panera – they were delicious so I had to try and make them.

I will try them in my next batch.

Where Does the Name Come From?

Kitchen sink cookies are a play on the phrase β€œeverything but the kitchen sink.” The idea is that the cookies are packed with everything you could think of, be it salty, sweet, or anything in between. When packed with mix-ins that hit all those different flavor notes, the resulting cookies deliver big time on flavor and texture.

We made these cookies without the potato chips because the kids ate them… thinking the chips were theirs!
