I, for one, can't wait for the limited edition companion cube edition to get released exactly 30 days after I have my steam machine delivered.

Is it less resources though? At that level to buy consumer grade?

I mean you can literally build your own steam machine with that. You can install the os into any PC. That's the ultimate goal I imagine.

An extra 8gb wouldn't have killed the profit margins.

I see you haven't checked ram prices lately...

Oh man you gotta try Pistol Whip if you have not . I had a 2 hour session and I felt like I could not get up the next day. Knees weak, arms heavy, >!mom's spaghetti !<

They are!

My wife got me a little 12 in hatchet chainsaw and I chewed through every log that had been sitting on the property in like a week

Then I was bummed out. It was like finishing a good book.

As someone who experienced nausea. I've tried all kinds of tricks. They all help, just like Dramamine or those bands with the beads that 1/10 pain.

It took quite a while to get over the nausea. A lot of starting and stopping with slightly longer sessions each time.

I fully expect that most people would not be willing to do that but I received the system as a gift and I really liked it. I wish they had more longer games. I'm so tired of the games that are 30s of concept and then do it over-and-over.

Just want to add an hour in VR is a LOT longer than 1 hour of flat screen gaming. If you haven't used VR then they aren't as comparable as you think.

You're usually on your feet, holding your arms up high, waving them around ,likely squatting - a lot and you've got a screen blaring into your eyes with constant high intensity stimulation.

Most people won't do 1 hour sessions on the regular, forget a 3-4 hour session without being put down to charge for while you take a break.

You really shouldn't push through the nausea. That's how it gets worse.

If you start feeling sick. Put it down.

But yes. And that's why the games are still such a limited selection compared to flat screen.

No long campaigns in VR.

I mean so do I?

I had 2 defects in the first year. I know 3 other people who bought indexes. All 3 had at least 1 defect that got them a full replacement of a controller within the first year of ownership.

It's 5 years later and the battery which is not replaceable lasts about 5 minutes, so I have to always have an external pack. One controller it doesn't detect all my fingers so I drop stuff unless I use the hard grab settings. The other has a trigger that gets stuck 7/10 times and that is after multiple replacements of each.

Not necessarily a problem except they are $300 to replace. Not exactly your $60 Xbox controller.

Sacrifices were likely made for price point but also durability.

The knuckles are incredibly fragile controllers. I don't know anyone who has a set for over 6 months without some weird quirk, or lost functionality in at least one of them

You really don't want to scratch the lenses on a VR headset it will drive you crazy.
