Yeah, I’m doing quite a bit of research and they seem like they’re great but not what I’m after. As chaotic as my music is, there are layers and details that just don’t come through on my more fun headphones. For now, I want something that’s clear, good instruemnt separation and detail with modest amount of sub bass, clean mid bass and clean treble. I suppose the term is balance but I keep reading reviews about popular IEM’s and what people are willing to put up with and I’m just like… the excellent sub bass doesn’t matter to me if the instrument separation is muddy. At this point I’m just going to order the Kefine Delci or Truthear Hexa maybe.

I’m the one who posted about the KZ’s and my unique needs with sound signature. The music that I love sounds like shit because it’s all poorly recorded/mastered and requires extremely responsive drivers and great clarity. For example:

https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxsWursW4kDS95RzsdWwz8-xofBPANx2ug

I’ve done a lot of research and it seems like the Kefine Delci’s might be a good match. I still have to hear them, obviously, but I have $100 to spend at Linsoul and was thinking about tacking on the 7hz Crinacle Red Zero to my order

Assuming I like the Delci, is there a significant enough gap in sound quality between the best <$30 IEM’s and the $45-60 options that there would be no reason to try any of the top <$30?

I own Quarks, Chu II, KZ Castor and Tripowin Kailua. I don’t like any of them for music. I understand that my preferred sound signature is what’s important but it’s kind of irrelevant if the IEM doesn’t sound good. Would I just be wasting money on the 7hz or do they crush the listed IEM’s?

Sorry, long post, but I just have a feeling that there’s a price point where you go from “great for the price” to genuinely good

Ahh I just logged back on to say that I’m just gonna wing it and spend like 50-80. Should I not just buy Truthear Zero Red?

I was originally going to try the 7hz x Crinacle 2 before reading that the Castor was better for bass. Little did I know, "better bass" just meant way too much bass. It sounds like Crinacle is what I'm after but now I'm wondering if the 7hz is a side-step and I should start with the Truthear x Crinacle Red.

I got a pair this week. Love them for their price and I’m definitely keeping. I also got a pair of KZ Castor Pro and I can’t quite explain it but the Castor sound better and somehow I’d rather listen to the Chu

I’m exploring budget IEM’s and got the Chu II and Castor Pro. I think the Chu’s are great for the money and the Castor Pro’s are almost great for the money but the bass is making my head swim. I feel like I’m experiencing a cabin pressure change on takeoff. I turned off the manual switches and EQ’d but good golly.

And it’s not even bad sounding bass. It’s just too much. Also, the instruments are hidden. Lots of bass and mid-bass, great vocals but the crack of a snare or complexity of a riff are just fine.

Anyway, I think I need to return them. Should I be looking for something that’s just considered balanced? I listen to bullshit that isn’t recorded particularly well and I have no idea what to buy. I was looking at the KZ PRX next.

And to be clear, I listen to bands like Thou, Mispyrming, Deathspell Omega, Marduk, Djevel, Alice In Chains, Immortal, Emma Ruth Rundle, Blut Aus Nord, mgła… if you’re familiar.

Gotcha. I have Sony Linkbuds but I’m out on wireless. I could rant, and I won’t, but it turns out that all the conspiracy weirdos who tried warning us about WiFi, wireless headphones, 5G, etc. were right. Whoops.

Anyway, I’m ordering a pair right now. I’m psyched. Thanks.

It doesn’t appear that they are, unless you’re referring to 7hz who make both Crinacle Zero and Salnotes Zero

That’s the other one that I was considering. I just wish they used a different type of cable connection. The pins scare me but I’ll definitely buy them anyway.

Ok cool. I was between those and 7hz crinacle zero. I’ll have to find a comparison video review or something.

Do you use them as a mobile IEM or are you usually stationary? I tend to wear mine when I’m cooking and the goddamn cabinet handles hook my cable and rip it right out of my phone so I’m nervous about the pins. Maybe I just need a set of these + quarks for when I’m moving around.

Also, just curious which version you have. I feel like my usb-c dongle takes the brunt of my abuse but I kind of want the usb-c cable version.

My cheaper headphones are all failing and I need to grab a few pair of whatever is the best value iem today, similar to how the quarks were when I bought them 3-4 years ago.

Is it still the Quarks? I saw something from 7hz that was really popular at $30 but I think it has a detachable cable. I’ll have those pins snapped off in a week.

I’m new to this and have been trying to get Fallout NV to run on my Chromebook Plus. I had Fallout 3 running great but at some point I did something so that FO3 fails to launch.

Can I do something like a fresh install? I don’t care about losing data/ games.
