This is pretty cool!

Unsure where you are but if it’s winter there’s a good chance these girls aren’t going to make it.

If it’s summer, then they’ll probably have a good nest. This is going to be filled with comb, honey, and larva before they’re done with it. (It can happen really fast). Since it doesn’t look like a large spot, I’d expect them to throw off another swarm before the season is out.

The downside is that bees have a tough time without treatment for mites… which means this colony might make it through this year but will likely start having some issues after that.

I’m interested in other people’s personal experiences, even if they’re mundane. Everyone approaches situations slightly differently and learning about that is entertaining to me.

The thing I dislike is when people parrot whatever shit they read on the internet or some academic theory without any first hand experience to back it up.

This is a long way of saying… there are people out there that will enjoy hearing what you have to say.

If you live in the city or directly adjacent this is true, but it gets republican really fast once you get a bit more into the trees.

I’m not sure this level of drop shows much of anything.

You’re right. It’s plausible that this is a big impact for them, but until someone releases actual numbers… I’m heavily suspicious. For whatever reason, these services often get a bump in subscribers when they’re constantly in the news like this.

I’ve seen some behind the scenes numbers for a different streaming service when “people are canceling in droves”. For every article I saw, I never once saw a significant number of cancellations.

So, I would take these articles with a grain of salt

That sounds like a parent issue not so much a state issue. I guess you could argue that maybe both the kids parents are working too much and are too tired to parent… which could be considered a state issue.

Anyone know why we keep building schools instead of hiring teachers? I swear every school near me has gotten replaced but the class size is 30 to 1.

Until I read your comment, I thought this was satire and not the actual tweet. What in the fuck

I think you’re onto something where a lot of this AI mess is going to have to be fixed by actual engineers. If folks blindly copied from stackoverflow without any understanding, they’re gonna have a bad time and that seems equivalent to what we’re seeing here.

I think the AI hate is overblown and I tend to treat it more like a search engine than something that actually does my work for me. With how bad Google has gotten, some of these models have been a blessing.

My hope is that the models remain useful, but the bubble of treating them like a competent engineer bursts.

The folks I know at both OpenAI and Anthropic don’t share your belief.

Also, anecdotally, I’m only seeing more and more push for LLM use at work.

I have friends who sleep on a pile of wires…

Black Bean and Corn Salad (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by PotentialProblem@sh.itjust.works to c/recipes@vegantheoryclub.org

This is my go to lunch, usually good for a day or three until I no longer want to eat it. Each serving is around 20 grams of protein and 450 calories. Members of my family like pairing it with taco sauce, rice, corn tortillas or some combination of those. Grill fresh corn if you can, it’s way better.

Let’s see how bad I screw up the formatting!

Black Bean and Corn Salad (8 Servings)

Ingredients:

  • Black Beans: 1,680g (approximately 4 cans, or 8 cups cooked black beans)

  • Corn Kernels: 600g (from about 5 ears of corn)

  • Red Bell Pepper: 400g, diced (about 3 medium bell peppers)

  • Red Onion: 100g, finely chopped (about 2/3 large red onion)

  • Cherry Tomatoes: 400g, halved (about 2 2/3 cups)

  • Avocados: 2 2/3 avocados, diced (approximately 400g; add fresh each day if prepping in advance)

  • Cilantro: 40g, chopped (about 1 1/3 cups loosely packed)

  • Olive Oil: 120ml (about 8 tablespoons)

  • Lime Juice: 80ml (about 5-6 tablespoons, from approximately 3 medium limes)

  • Salt and Pepper: To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beans and Corn: If using canned black beans, drain and rinse them thoroughly. If using cooked black beans, ensure they are well-drained. For the corn, if using frozen, thaw it; if using fresh, cook and cool it as needed.

  2. Mix the Vegetables: In a large bowl, combine the drained black beans, corn kernels, diced red bell pepper, finely chopped red onion, and halved cherry tomatoes.

  3. Dress the Salad: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

  4. Add Fresh Ingredients: If prepping for the week, store the salad in individual containers. Add diced avocado just before eating to keep it fresh.

I’m a fan of slice of life type movies that showcase a point of time in someone’s life, a relationship, or culture.

Big fan of movies like About Elly, Twelve Angry Men, Ikiru.

I have the Criterion and Arrow video streaming services and like to pick random movies on there from time to time.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!
