I made fruitcake from scratch. It's not as sticky or as sweet as what you can buy, and the fruit tastes like real fruit. I consider it a success (although I admit that it is an acquired taste).

When I see your face
nothing else matters
my heart starts to race,
all my thoughts scatter.

Your smile so winsome
makes me start to sweat:
My limbic system
sees you as a threat.

I'm flooded with fear,
not joy and delight.
The sight of you, dear,
triggers fight-or-flight.
