I've been purchasing separate start menu software since Microslop killed it in Windows 8. Start 11 from Stardock is worth the cost for me.
This happened to me. I was a pretty good kid; brainy too, but one history test kicked my ass. The teacher was the husband of my grandfather's sister. A distant family cut me a break.
This phenomenon can continue into adulthood too.
However, after a certain point it's not about the grades you make. It's about the hands you shake.

IIRC that Tegra X1 chip was launched in 2015 so the Switch launched with an obsolete SoC. It's surprising to see how much performance they've been able to wring out of that old tech for nearly a decade. Color me impressed.
The Sega Game Gear. That sucker could drain six AA batteries in about three hours. Do you know how hard it was to find a place to buy AA batteries on Christmas day?
While a rechargeable battery pack fixed that problem, most of the games were garbage compared to the GameBoy. The first party games were the best, but most everything else was 'meh.'
I never did get that TV tuner add-on either.
We in the West haven't seen how bad it can get when the food supply is cut off. I hope I never do.
