One extra note I would like to chime in to add: It's a lot easier to fit tons of coverage (side armors, esp. soft ones) into bigger carriers. You can get LBT-6094s and Eagle MMACs used on eBay for about the same cost as a newer carrier that will be harder to armor up. Nylon doesn't really go bad.

There have been a few articles on "herding" which I didn't even know about before this election. I am no pollster, but it sounds like there's a huge incentive to protect the reputation of the polling firm ("it's a draw, so we can't be wrong") vs reporting numbers they think might make news.
