I’ve never heard of that being an issue before, people get upset over that? My displays are different too with 2 1080p and a 2k

From my experience, I’ve not really ran into a long running task that might get interrupted by a Windows update.

What I have ran into however is Windows update spontaneously deciding to downgrade my Intel Arc driver and install whenever it feels like! No prompt, no input from me, just installs. The only “prompt” I get is my monitors blanking out and either it blue screens or it downgrades and I get a “you need to restart to finish installing updates” notification.

Not only was it downgrading to a driver that didn’t even support Intel Arc Control for my Intel Arc card, it caused Blender renders, which can take hours to render, to crash, it crashes games, or just blue screens the whole system because GPU drivers shouldn’t be updated when programs are trying to use said GPU. It was insanely frustrating and was one of my final straws to just deleting the Windows drive entirely.

This was all with updates paused, but there was no way to disable driver updates, which shouldn’t have even been handled by Windows update for my GPU. Intel has their own updater and would actually update, not downgrade.

Granted this was also a few years ago now with Windows 10 Home. But it’s something that was so infuriating to deal with for something that should’ve been a toggle or an optional update. At least tell me when you are going to break my driver so I can close programs!

I mean they aren’t going to blow AMD or Nvidia out of the water, certainly not in the high end cards. But from my experience with my Intel Arc A770 LE 16GB under Linux. It’s been amazing.

Pretty much zero driver issues, 2K completely max settings at or really close to 60fps in all of my games I’ve tried. All for $350 (But that I’ve seen as low as $260 for the non LE versions in store before GPU pricing skyrocketed again)

I’m all for Intel going in with the B series, especially if it’s as plug and play as my A770 is with Wayland using the Mesa driver and has more performance to compliment.

You did an amazing job on all of them! I absolutely love my headshot and can’t thank you enough for it! :3

I’ll get some work in on my drawing hopefully this weekend as I have some time to work on it!

I have a few pictures (though, none linked anywhere just yet sadly). But I’m just your standard red fox with some goggles and non-binary bandana! :3

:O As OmegaMouse said, I’d also be quite interested in doing a trade! Need me some more practice myself as it’s been a little bit since I’ve drawn anything! :3

I also use a NAS as my primary git server, although I’ve never heard of Forgejo before, but it sounds really interesting and definitely something that I may look into. It sounds really handy to have on hand, especially with code search and LFS. So thanks for introducing that!

At least for the RGB portion, I would also look into OpenRGB! Although I don’t have RGB keyboards, I do have lots of RGB in my computer that I sync up using it. They also have a compatibility list for their supported hardware, including a keyboard filter too

Can 100% confirm. Had a friend use that card for many years until it started crashing whenever it got over about 90% utilization, even when underclocking it. That happened about 5 months ago now. They currently have a 3060. But they used that 980Ti for everything and it played all the games they had without a hitch. It was one hell of a card and had an amazing run
